Came in with the wife for a couple of drinks in the sun after the races. Had the most gorgeous time, one of my new favourite places in York and Issie couldn’t have been more welcoming. You’ll see us again soon!
We came in for a friends birthday and had the most wonderful time. Issie on the bar was so lovely and gave us recommendations based on our preferences. She had really great knowledge of the different drinks and food. I also have an allergy which they were great about.

Great looking pub from the outside so managed to convince the wife to pop in for a pint on the way back from an evening walk. Unfortunately as the gentleman behind the bar was pouring my pint I was told that I would have to leave as the pub had a strict policy with regards to having teenagers in the pub after 7pm...I happened to have my 17 year old daughter with me too. Great shame, i have to add that I've not come across this when going to a pub before but worth people knowing to save the embarrassment my family had when we were shown the door.
Excellent pub with great staff especially Ellis and Oly top guys 👍 and cheap drinks Amstel £3.50 a pint 👍
Highly recommend especially if you like watching sports as there's many TV screens and an excellent beer garden 👍👍
