About This Pub
You know, when you step into the Snickleway Inn, it's got that real old-school charm that just draws you in – think a proper Yorkshire pub with its cosy nooks and a landlord who's genuinely chuffed about his spot. I love how they focus on top-notch real ales and craft beers; it's clear they've got a passion for it, and sampling a few is always a treat. The atmosphere is spot on for a laid-back catch-up with mates, and the staff go the extra mile to remember your face and your usual order, which makes it feel personal and welcoming. On the downside, though, it's a bit hit-and-miss with the drinks selection – you might fancy a Guinness or a vodka and orange, but they don't always have it, which can be frustrating if you're set on something specific. Then there's the maintenance side; the toilets were in a right state in some reviews, all flooded and not sorted out, which isn't ideal for a quick visit. And, it can get proper stuffy inside, overheated to the point where you'd wish for a bit more fresh air. All in all, it's a cracking choice if you're an ale fan looking for a traditional vibe, but it might not suit everyone if you're after a broader range or impeccable facilities – still, I'd say it's worth popping in for the positives.

Proper Old Skool boozer run by a proper Landlord, who remembers your face & order, and is rightly proud of his pub. Top Man. We will be back, for a Chocolate Ale & a Pinot Grigio, please Gaffer.
The snickleway Inn is a former John Smith's pub. It now has five hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales and also craft beers. The ones we sampled were in excellent condition. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, it's a lovely cosy pub, a visit is highly recommended.
No Guinness no Amstel asked for a vodka and orange reply no orange. Is this a pub? The toilet was all flooded no sign of cleaning it up. Only good thing was the music.
Well our first two hours in this visit to York was spent within Jonathan Edwards long standing Triple Jump World record. Fifth pub. Been here with Madge a few times. A really old basic pub serving great real ale. Lovely little rooms off from the bar. Great real ale.
Good pub, average choice of local ales, stuff on the toes. Quite small and the worst thing was that it was overheated. A few degrees lover will save on expenses and make the place more comfortable
