About This Pub
Ah, The Kettleby Cross, it's one of those dependable Wetherspoons spots that you can always rely on for a good value pint or a solid meal without emptying your wallet. I have to say, what really stands out is how wallet-friendly it is; you can nip in for refillable drinks or a hearty lunch and still have change to spare. The staff are often cheerful and efficient, making the whole experience feel warm and inviting, and the food portions are generous – think big plates of fish and chips that leave you satisfied. It's in a handy spot too, just a stone's throw from the high street with parking right opposite, which is a bonus if you're driving over. On the flip side, it's not all roses; I've heard tales of service being a bit off, like a bartender who seemed more interested in something else, and there was that one review where an order came incomplete, which is a shame when you're looking forward to your meal. Still, with an overall solid rating, it's worth a visit for a casual catch-up with mates – just keep expectations realistic and you'll likely have a great time.

-
It's not always flawless – one experience was downright disappointing, so it might vary depending on the visit.

Didn't order food but had drinks. Good service spoons as very quickly table was cleared. Staff were friendly and smiley compared to some others I've been to where they just grunt at you. Very affordable as two refillable drinks under £4 and opposite accessible parking area.
Disgusting! Service at bar was appalling, blond haired young lady could not have been more disinterested. We had never tried steak night before and will never again. Service was quick but jack Daniel’s Tennessee sauce included in my gourmet steak option was missing, when queried they brought me a bit of bbq sauce 🤦🏻♀️, chips under cooked and yes it seems like a good deal, but not if it’s not actually edible.
Fabulous little spoons. Massive portion of fish and chips and mushy peas, delicious 😋. Fast service. Clean tables and in general. Nice friendly staff. Car park across the road. Stones throw from high street.🥳
The Kettleby Cross is one of the best pubs in Melton Mowbray. The English breakfast and caffe mocha have met my expectations. The service is on a high level, and the staff is very friendly and professional. The atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable. There is also a huge selection of draught and normal beers and ales. Highly recommended pub!
Called in here today for lunch. Staying at Eye Kettleby Lakes. Easy to park as Car Park opposite - £2.30p for 2 hours, cheaper than Lincoln.
Busy but got served quickly. Two scampi combo, one large bowl of chips, large Chardonnay and pint of Doombar, just over £20. Wetherspoons always reasonably priced. The usual 5⭐️ hygiene rating - never had a dirty glass at any of the Wetherspoons we have visited and, on our travels, there have been many😊.
Furnishings rather tired.
