About This Pub
Ah, The Joiners in Finchley – it's one of those pubs that really knows how to put on a good show for a relaxed afternoon or evening with friends. I've got to say, their bottomless brunch is a proper highlight; imagine endless Aperols and a decent pizza for just £36 – it's brilliant value and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you're having a whale of a time. The beer garden is another gem, especially on a sunny day, giving you that perfect spot to chat over a craft beer or cocktail without a care. They're always buzzing with events like live sports or special offers, which keeps the energy up and makes it feel like a community hub. On the flip side, though, the food isn't always hitting the mark – a few folks have grumbled about small portions and dishes that don't quite live up to the hype, like overpriced halloumi that left them wanting more. Still, if you're after drinks and atmosphere over a gourmet meal, it's a solid choice. All in all, I'd pop in for the vibes and deals, but maybe stick to the drinks menu to keep things tip-top.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The bottomless brunch is an absolute winner – free-flowing drinks and tasty food make it a fantastic deal for a fun day out.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive; folks like Morgan, Jake, and Gabby really make you feel welcome and add to the lively vibe.
-
It's got a cracking beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun with a cold one in hand.
-
Loads of great offers and events, like live sport screenings and student deals, keep things exciting and affordable.
-
Overall, it's a solid spot for craft beers and cocktails, with a welcoming atmosphere that encourages you to linger.
Cons
-
Some of the food can be a bit disappointing – one mate mentioned tiny portions and nothing special for the price, like that swicy halloumi.
-
Prices might feel a tad steep for what you get in places, especially if you're just popping in for a quick bite.
-
It can be inconsistent; while brunches shine, other meals haven't impressed everyone based on what I've heard.
-
The pub's in a busy area, which is great for convenience but might mean it's a bit noisy or crowded at peak times.

🍺 £6.10 Cruzcampo
The Joiners is located on busy Ballards Lane in the heart of Finchley, North London. The nearest Tube is Finchley Central.
This pub dates from the late 19th century and was originally called The Joiners Arms. The pub was rebuilt in the interwar years, you can just about see the ‘brewers Tudor’ building behind the modern front extension.
This is a large one bar that has a modern chain pub feel. The servery is centrally located and straddles the main bar area at the front and a dining area at the back. Opposite the servery is a raised section with a pool table. At the rear of the pub is a decent size partially covered beer garden with plenty of benches. The decor is slightly dated with lots of bold colours around the walls, a mix of carpet and wood floors, loads of seating and one nice touch was the original 1930’s fireplace.
The beer line up was a who’s who of familiar keg favourites. I decided on a Cruzcampo, my pint was excellent, price point was average. The food menu consists of pub classics and a range of Burgers and Pizzas, Fish & Chips costs £14.50.
We arrived around 2.30pm on a chilly Saturday afternoon in January. The pub was fairly busy with a mix of clientele, most of which were watching the Spurs v Newcastle game on the multitude of screens around the bar. The atmosphere was relaxed and chilled, so settling in was easy. The service was pleasant, the chap on duty was rushed off his feet and had everything under control.
Visiting The Joiners didn’t blow me away. This was due to the generic over the top cheap and cheerful chain pub vibes. I couldn’t fault the beer and this is definitely a great place to watch sport. Have a look, see what you think.

Food not good!
Foods been bad for a while, and way overpriced for what you get. New menu came out so I thought I'd give it a try, ordered "swicy halloumi". Tiny portion for £7 and nothing special, sweet chilli with a few bits of halloumi.
