About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about Platinum Lounge & Bar – it's one of those places in Rotherham that just feels like a breath of fresh air. Tucked away in the historic Imperial Buildings, it's got this cosy, neighbourhood charm that makes you want to linger. From what I've gathered from the reviews and their website, the staff are an absolute delight; they're helpful, polite, and make sure everything runs smoothly, whether you're popping in for a quick coffee and panini or staying for the bottomless brunch with endless drinks. The food is spot on too – think hearty jacket potatoes loaded with tasty fillings and served with fresh sides, all at a price that won't break the bank. And if you're up for some fun, their Friday and Saturday nights with DJs and soulful tunes are brilliant for letting your hair down until the early hours. They've even got options for events and parties, which is handy if you're planning something special. On the flip side, though, the overall rating is a 3.9, so while most recent feedback is glowing, it hints that not every visit is perfect – maybe the odd service slip-up or something else that doesn't quite hit the mark. Plus, with just a handful of reviews, it might not have that established feel yet, and the hours can be a bit murky, so double-check before you head out. All in all, it's a great spot to pop into for a relaxed afternoon or evening, and I'd say give it a go if you're in the area – you might just find your new favourite haunt!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly, welcoming, and always ready to go the extra mile, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The food is a real highlight; those jacket potatoes and paninis are delicious, served with a free side salad and coleslaw, and they're fantastic value for a quick bite or a relaxed meal.
-
They've got cracking entertainment with live DJs and music on Friday and Saturday nights, plus it's open late until 1am, perfect for dancing the night away or enjoying a cheeky cocktail.
-
The drinks selection is top-notch, including great coffees, teas, wines, beers, and spirits, all sourced from quality partners like Balmforth & Co.
-
It's a versatile spot for all sorts of occasions, from after-work drinks and family lunches to parties and events, with VIP packages and space for larger groups.
Cons
-
The overall rating sits at 3.9 out of 5, which suggests that while many folks have a great time, there might be the odd disappointing visit that isn't captured in the latest reviews we've seen.
-
With only 36 reviews in total, it's a bit under the radar, so you might not get as much buzz or variety of feedback compared to busier spots.
-
The operating hours seem a tad confusing with some repeated listings, and while it's open six days a week, that one closed day could be a nuisance if you're planning a Sunday outing.
-
Prices aren't specified anywhere, which might leave you wondering if it's affordable or a splurge – always worth checking beforehand to avoid any surprises.

Went to the 80s bottomless brunch. The service and staff were excellent, the drinks continuously flowed and the food was great. First time here and it certainly won't be the last.
Lovely bar. Great food and cold fizzy beers. Can't fault it.
On a rare trip into Rotherham today we discovered this gem of a place.
We both ordered jackets wth two fillings, salad and coleslaw and wow, probably the best jp's we've had in ages! Such incredible value for money too. The guy front of house is fab, so friendly and welcoming. If we lived in Rotherham he'd be seeing us all the time. Great place!!!
Visited today (a Saturday lunch time)with my two kids after fancying a bite to eat. The guy who was working was extremely helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble, Sat out in the sun had a coffee and panini’s. Food was delicious, my kids ate the lot and they are picky when it comes to somewhere new. Ill definitely be back. 5 stars from us!
