About This Pub
Ah, The High Field – it's one of those spots in Birmingham that just feels like a proper gem when you're in the mood for a good pub experience. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is spot on; think fresh, tasty dishes with excellent presentation that leave you feeling chuffed, whether you're opting for something hearty or a lighter bite like that squash and lentil salad everyone's raving about. The service really stands out too – the team are so attentive and make you feel right at home, remembering faces and taking extra care with things like allergies, which is a real plus for anyone with specific needs. Plus, that outdoor garden and terrace are an absolute treat on a sunny afternoon, adding to the relaxed, welcoming feel that's perfect for catching up with mates or even family dos. On the downside, it does get a bit chaotic when it's buzzing with activity; the noise can ramp up, especially in the family-friendly areas, so if you're after a peaceful pint, it might not always hit the mark. And while most visits go smoothly, there have been a few slips with dietary requests, which is a shame but not unheard of in busy places. All in all, it's a solid choice for a night out – the positives far outweigh the niggles, and with that 4.4 rating, it's clear plenty of folks agree it's worth a visit for a balanced, enjoyable time.

I came over from Ireland to celebrate my birthday with family. Kids booked lunch And I was greeted by beautiful girl with a happy birthday. We were all in shock and we ordered an amazing meal with dessert. Out came dessert with happy birthday. We still in shock as my kids said nothing about my birthday. When leaving my son asked how did you know it was my mom’s birthday, they saw me quickly open one of my cards with mom on it . We were blown away . Just the little things they picked up on . The staff were absolutely amazing such a beautiful energy and definitely will be back again . Service and food Unreal 🩷 thank you so much again guys and girls made my birthday with my beautiful family perfect
When I visit my daughter this is always our favourite place to eat. Service is fantastic and food is exceptional. They really cater for and care about my allergies. They remember us everytime we go in. The atmosphere is relaxed, clean and high quality. Highly recommend
Excellent food, great service, great ambiance and fantastic value for money. No hesitation to recommend this place.
Group of six, we had different meals, all fresh and very tasty, excellent presentation.
So lovely to be back for dinner here. The atmosphere is always great. Louis looked after us so well tonight, incredibly attentive service, delicious food - the squash and lentil salad was fantastic - and lovely wine. A great choice for dinner. Thanks to Louis and the team. Looking forward to coming back soon.
A busy family restaurant downstairs with drinks bar. A beautiful interior which was nicely decorated for Christmas, but beware this lace can get very loud as it is family friendly!
The staff were busy and attentive, however I had requested a dietary requirement which was completely overlooked, so we received the wrong starters, I asked for no pork and I got a terrine wrapped in bacon 🤮 (luckily we swapped starters) and the same server got our order wrong for our main course (giving us both no pork options). Another server corrected the mistake.
Nice range of drinks and wines. The Christmas dinner was very nice but I was expecting a larger portion and something more special than a normal roast for Christmas. There was a lack of finesse and attention to detail on every single dish, and the food doesn’t look appetising in presentation. This was disappointing for such an upscale restaurant.
The food was tasty but also felt a little put together without any careful skill. I felt rushed to finish my meal as the restaurant was so busy and people moving around constantly. There was a lack of grace throughout.
I will not be returning to the Highfield restaurant despite it being such a beautiful location, due to the poor service, overwhelming busy restaurant and lacklustre food.
The restaurant has vegetarian options on the menu but not vegan, you would have to specifically request vegan but good luck with that!
