About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Hearty Goodfellow – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Nuneaton. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the owners and staff are absolute stars; they're friendly as can be and make everyone feel welcome, whether you're there for a quick pint or a longer catch-up. I love how they've got that gentle, relaxed vibe, perfect for a Friday afternoon session, and the prices are spot on – not breaking the bank at all. The garden area's a real winner too; imagine sitting under a sturdy gazebo with sunny benches, a kids' play area, and even a football goal for the little ones, plus a big TV for watching the match. It's got all the makings of a great day out. But, to keep it real, there are a few niggles; some folks have had issues with table bookings going awry or waiting ages for drinks, and the pricing can be a bit inconsistent, which might leave you scratching your head. Overall, though, with a solid 4.4 rating, it's worth a visit if you're after a friendly spot for a drink – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons

-
They've got a good selection of drinks, plus extras like a large TV outside and pool tables, making it fun for groups.
-
The toilets are clean, and little touches like a plug socket behind the bar and a lovely dog named Banjo add a nice homely feel.
Cons
-
There can be occasional mix-ups with table bookings, like getting the wrong one or ending up with a smaller space than expected.
-
Service might drag a bit at times, with one person waiting a full 45 minutes just to get a drink, which isn't ideal for a quick stop.
-
Pricing isn't always consistent – you might question the first round and get a less than helpful response, which can leave a sour note.

Friendly owners. Friendly bar staff. Reasonable prices. Gentle vibe. Always feel welcome. Great pub. Update May 2024. 6 months from 1st review. Visit every Friday afternoon. Made to feel so welcome by owners, staff and locals. Really great place for a drink. Prices are great also compared to competition.
Really nice pub was quiet but is a Saturday afternoon toilets clean sky and plug socket behind the bar nice bargirl lovely dog called Banjo which was a customer's!!
this pub just happened to be the location of a family function, the staff and locals were amazing. Great service from the staff and welcomed by the locals. had a few frames of pool with some local guys. I would happily come back. 5 stars all day long.
Nice local pub with an excellent garden area, large amounts are on a patio with a sturdy gazebo covering it. There are some benches in the sun, a kids play area and a football goal. Also, there's a large TV outside and a good selection of drinks. Would recommend
Booked a table, arrived to find it was assigned to the wrong people. Got a smaller table but 2 of our party never arrived so no issue over all. 45 minutes to get a drink. Went to order second round of exact same drinks and it was cheaper. Questioned the first round pricing and had a very much "dont care" attitude. Again took over 40 minutes to order another round. Went to order a third round after spending 30 mins getting bar staff attention and was told at 2105 they're not serving anymore. Then witnessed them serving all the local football teams above anyone else in the bar. Had friends on a different table who experienced the same customer service. Left early, will never return. Shame, nicely done out and could be a decent bar if they paid some attention to other people rather than the footballers who had been there since early doors.
