About This Pub
Ah, The Greyhound – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a proper British night out. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that warm, homely vibe where the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and the food is a real highlight with hearty portions and flavours that stick with you. I love how it's kept things traditional while staying clean and well-managed, making it a great choice for a casual meal or a pint with friends. On the downside, it's a shame there aren't any fresh reviews lately, so you might wonder if it's still up to scratch, and that incomplete mention of a 'dow' in one review leaves you curious about potential niggles. Overall, though, it's a reliable spot that seems to deliver good times without the fuss, and I'd say it's worth popping in for a try if you're in the area – just keep an eye on those opening times to avoid any surprises!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The food is absolutely delicious, with generous portions and great value that leaves you satisfied without breaking the bank.
-
It's a well-run, traditional spot that's spotlessly clean and tidy, perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates.
-
The atmosphere is cosy and comfortable, with plenty of locals adding to that authentic pub vibe.
Cons
-
There haven't been any recent reviews in the last six months, so it might be worth checking if things have stayed the same or changed a bit.
-
One review mentioned a minor downside, though it wasn't specified – could be something small like service quirks, but it's hard to say for sure.
-
The operating hours seem a tad confusing with varying times listed, which might make planning a visit a bit tricky.

Nice welcome. Very clean and tidy well run traditional establishment. Plenty locals in there when I popped in one Saturday afternoon.
The service was quick and friendly, the food was amazing and beautifully presented. Friendly staff, great food and a good price!
Went to celebrate our aunties 80th birthday. The food that was supplied was excellent and lots of it. The service was very good the girls behind the bar were very efficient and gave great service. The surrounding are very comfortable, clean and tidy. Access from both entrances is great. The only down side was the toilet facilities there are no disabled toilets and the ladies are not very wheelchair friendly, not good when you have two older ladies both in wheelchairs. Not much dignity having to use the loo with the door open. The young man who I asked about a disabled toilet was quite apologetic about not having one which was good . apart from that a lovely little pub.
Been a few time since been taken over by new management. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is gorgeous and really generous in portion size. Great value too. Definitely our go to pub now.
Just been for Sunday Lunch what a pleasant experience. Greeted by a lovey young man. I'd booked a table even though it was just two of us. The food was very nice with lovely home made Yorkshire Puds and fresh vegetables and the meat was delious. Will try a Steak on Wednesday.
