About This Pub
Ah, The Green Man – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles the moment you step inside. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this fantastic community feel where everyone's up for a chat and a laugh, especially if you're there to catch a Rangers or Celtic match; it's like the heart of the action without the hassle. The staff are spot on, and they've got a solid lineup of beers and ales that go down a treat, plus those pool tables and karaoke nights on the weekends really amp up the fun – it's easy to see why folks are raving about it. On the flip side, though, the website's a bit bare bones, so you won't find loads of info online, and the hours can end a bit early for those late-night sessions we'd all love. It's not claimed by the owners either, which might mean it's not as polished as some other spots, and if you're not into a lively, footy-focused crowd, it could feel overwhelming. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and some banter, but worth checking if it suits your vibe before heading over.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming, with locals and staff making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's a top spot for watching football, especially if you're into Rangers or Celtic – the telly's always on for the big games, making it a brilliant boozer for match days.
-
They're super dog-friendly, treating your furry mate like a VIP with free water and all, which is just the nicest touch for anyone popping in with their pet.
-
A great selection of draft beers and ales on offer, perfect for enjoying with mates while soaking up the vibe.
-
Fun extras like pool tables, karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays, and regular events keep things lively and entertaining.
Cons
-
The online presence is a bit basic, with a simple website that doesn't give much detail, so you might need to just turn up to get the full picture.
-
Operating hours can seem a tad inconsistent or early for a pub – typically wrapping up around 11pm or earlier on some days, which might cut short your evening plans.
-
It's unclaimed by the owners, so things like quick fixes or updates might not happen as swiftly as you'd hope in a more managed spot.
-
While the reviews are glowing, it does seem geared towards football fans and lively crowds, so if you're after a quiet, relaxed pint, it might feel a bit too boisterous at times.

Rangers and Celtic on tv ...brilliant boozer 100% ibrox loyal
Came into this fine establishment for a few whistle’s after a hard day at the office.
I was pleasantly greated by a local called John. He told me stories of his trip to the vineer clinic and how his favourite shade of pink is salmon.
Although a pleasant gentleman he never bought a single round.
Bar staff where top shelf and the pints where as fine as wine. Would 20/10 recommend. Will be back
One of the best experiences in my life entering this boozer
Very dog friendly.
I took my dog in and she was treated like Mr. John Lewis, given free pints (of water) all day, what a touch.
The dogs bark and the caravans keep rolling. Expect in this place most of the people inside bark.
I met a healthy man who won 66k on a slot machine and made me think twice about becoming a GM slot professional, wow.
You cannot miss this opportunity to join a hidden gem in the heart Islington. If you mention Nahsers name you’ll get a free fossy on tap.
Upon my travels I stumbled into the cozy GM pub. I was greeted by a nice gingerbread man named Fanta Pants
A great selection of draft beers and ales for all parties to enjoy. With Pool tables so straight they might even make Fanta Pants switch sides.
Get yourself down to the Green Man and have a fossy on me
Had a great afternoon in here. Friendly locals & staff. Very good place to watch Rangers games. Other football games are also available. A must visit. When in London
