About This Pub
Ah, The General Havelock – it's one of those pubs that just warms you up from the moment you walk in. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the food is spot on; think proper home-cooked classics like Sunday roasts and some tasty Thai dishes that pop up on certain days, all paired with a cracking selection of real ales and wines. The staff are always up for a laugh and make you feel right at home, and the place has this lovely historic feel with a roaring fire in the colder months and a sunny garden that's ideal for summer afternoons. It's brilliant for families or if you're out with the dog, and it's all at prices that won't break the bank. On the flip side, it can get a bit tight on space when it's lively, so you might want to book ahead to avoid any squash. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after an honest, down-to-earth spot for good grub and a chat – I'd say give it a go if you're in High Wycombe!
Pros and Cons

The food is absolutely spot on, with hearty traditional pub favourites and even some delicious Thai options that keep things fresh.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
-
It's got that classic, cosy pub charm with a real fire for winter evenings and a lovely garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun in summer.
-
Prices are really reasonable, so you can enjoy a great meal and a pint without worrying about the wallet.
-
They're super family and dog-friendly, which makes it a versatile spot for all sorts of get-togethers.
Cons
-
It can feel a bit cramped at the tables when it's busy, so you might end up a tad squished if the place is buzzing.
-
If you're after something more modern or trendy, this one's more about that traditional vibe, which might not suit everyone.

Food was amazing. Service lovely. It was just a bit of a tight squeeze at our table but would recommend this place.
First time here for a few decades! Sunday lunch was recommended so we booked a table as there were five of us. We were not disappointed. Lovely beer (Fullers), open fire, good pub atmosphere and great food. Not particularly expensive which was a bonus. Will be back.

Absolutely love this little pub, it’s just down the road from my workplace so we come here often for lunches and drinks after work. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and there’s a good atmosphere. The garden is lovely in the summer and definitely worth a visit. Drinks are reasonably priced and their food is great value for money and always really tasty. They currently have salt and pepper chicken in bbq sauce on their specials which I would definitely recommend. Overall a lovely little local pub which I love to visit regularly and would recommend to anyone in the area!
