You know, I had a wander into The Garricks Head the other day, and it's one of those places that just hits the spot for a laid-back evening. The atmosphere is spot on – full of character and that warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to stay for another round. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels included, which really adds to the charm. And let's not forget, the drinks are incredibly affordable, so it's ideal if you're out with mates and keeping things light on the wallet. On the downside, it's a bit of a shame they don't serve food; one person mentioned it outright, and another had heard good things but hadn't tried it, so you might end up needing to grab a takeaway if hunger strikes. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good laugh and some cheap bevvies, but perhaps not the full package if you're after a meal with your pint. I'd say give it a go if you're in North Shields – it's got that genuine pub feel that's hard to beat.
