About This Pub

Ah, Dickas – it's one of those unassuming pubs in North Shields that you might just stumble upon and end up enjoying more than you expected. From the reviews I've had a look at, the staff really stand out as the heart of the place; they're described as lovely and always up for a chat, which makes it feel like a proper community spot. I appreciate how clean and tidy it is too – no sticky floors or grubby tables here, just a nice, welcoming environment to settle into. And let's not forget the prices; nabbing a pint for around £3.20 is a real winner, especially when you're out for a casual catch-up. It's got that cosy vibe for just sitting round a table with friends, maybe playing a game of darts or grabbing some pub snacks. On the other hand, it's not all perfect – some people have mentioned that certain things feel a bit steep price-wise, which could put a damper on things if you're planning a longer session. The bright fluorescent lights aren't for everyone either; it can make the place feel a little stark rather than snug, and without any music, it might not have the lively energy you'd get elsewhere. Still, with a solid 4.3 rating from the folks who've been, it's clear this spot does a lot right for a straightforward, no-nonsense pub experience. If you're in the area and fancy a relaxed drink, I'd say give it a go – it's got that genuine local feel that makes it worth a visit.

Pros and Cons

Cons
  • Some items on offer can feel a bit overpriced, which might catch you off guard if you're watching your wallet
  • The lighting is quite bright with fluorescent bulbs, which doesn't suit everyone and can make it feel less intimate than you'd hope
  • There's no music playing, so it might come across as a tad quiet or lacking in buzz for those wanting a livelier atmosphere
  • It's a straightforward, no-frills setup, which means it might not have the extra features some folks look for in a pub outing

New pub, used to be Santander Bank. Bright pub inside with fluorescent lights..not keen, prefer cozy. But hey. Stella £3.20 a pint (02.09.22) so good price. Friendly lass at bar. No music, but pub snacks, dart board and one bandit. So ideal if you just want to sit round a table and have a few pints with mates...ideal. No fancy stuff..
