About This Pub
Ah, The Seven Stars – what a gem of a pub in North Shields! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with that classic, homely feel, thanks to the historic pictures adorning the walls and a real sense of community among the crowd. The beers are spot on, with a fantastic range including local favourites from their sister brewery, so whether you're after a cask ale or something from a can, there's bound to be something that hits the spot. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, and at decent prices too, it's easy to while away an afternoon or evening there. Don't miss the beer garden if the weather's playing ball; it's a proper treat for relaxing with mates. On the flip side, it does have its quirks – the hours start a bit later in the day, so early risers might find themselves twiddling their thumbs, and being on the smaller side, it can fill up quickly, especially on busier days. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone looking for a proper pub experience with great drinks and good company, and I'd say it's well worth a visit or two to see what all the fuss is about.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – it's warm, welcoming, and full of historic charm with pictures on the walls that make you feel right at home.
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers, including local brews from their sister brewery, with plenty of cask, keg, bottles, and cans to choose from.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel like a regular from the get-go, plus the drinks are reasonably priced so you won't break the bank.
-
There's a lovely beer garden out the back, perfect for a sunny afternoon, and they serve up tasty bar snacks like scotch eggs that go down a treat.
Cons
-
The opening hours can be a tad limited, typically starting around lunchtime, so if you're after an early pint, you might have to wait.
-
It's a cosy little spot, which means it can get quite busy on weekends, making it tricky to find a seat if you're popping in spontaneously.

Great atmosphere and good selection of beers.
Great local bar with historic pictures on the wall and a beer garden at the back. Very welcoming with a range of ages among the customers. Really friendly all round. Full range of drinks at a decent price.
Staff changed shift when we visited and they couldn't be faulted.
Worth more than one visit.
Excellent little boozer not far from the centre of North Shields. A warm welcome and a good range of beers on tap including ones from their sister brewery. Lovely bar snacks, we had the scotch egg. One pint became two and could have quite easily been half a dozen. Everything a good pub should be
