About This Pub

Ah, The Garibaldi Hotel, what a lovely spot it is! I've got to say, if you're after a proper pub experience in Northampton, this place really delivers. The food is just brilliant – their Mexican-inspired dishes, like those tasty tacos, are fresh and full of flavour, and from what I've heard from folks who've tried it, it's a cut above the rest. Pair that with a fantastic range of beers and cocktails, and you're set for a great evening. They're always hosting live music, quizzes, and even retro games, which keeps the vibe upbeat and entertaining – it's one of those places where you can easily lose track of time chatting with friends. The staff are an absolute delight, making everyone feel right at home, and it's handled events like weddings with real flair. On the flip side, the hours can be a bit unpredictable, so it's wise to check beforehand, and its backstreet location might mean it's not the easiest to stumble upon. All in all, it's a gem worth seeking out for a balanced mix of good grub, drinks, and craic, but just keep those little niggles in mind for a smooth visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, especially their Mexican-inspired menu with amazing tacos that hit the spot every time.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers, cocktails, and cask ales, making it a proper treat for anyone who loves a good pint.
  • Live music, pub quizzes, and retro games keep things lively and fun – it's always buzzing with something exciting going on.
  • The staff are dead friendly and welcoming, which really makes you feel at home, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or hosting an event like a wedding.
  • It's a hidden gem in Northampton with a great atmosphere, perfect for catching up with mates or enjoying weekend jazz and blues sessions.
Cons
  • The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what I've seen, so it's worth double-checking before heading out to avoid any disappointment.
  • Being tucked away on a backstreet, it might be a tad tricky to find if you're not familiar with the area, which could put some folks off.
  • While it's generally a top spot, the current status suggests it might be closed at times, so keeping an eye on their socials is a must to catch any updates.

Hired for a wedding event All staff was amazing! We love how awesome this pub looks, We did have our own local pizza company feature here for the night but we have been plenty of times for food and it’s so good! Everything about this pub is a must go to! Even do karaoke!!! Which everyone should hire out as it’s so much fun and in my opinion one of the best set ups in Northampton.

Thanks. What a great pub with good grass roots music. I can only describe this as a real hidden gem of Northampton. I came here today to see Nigel Price Organ Trio and I wasn’t disappointed. First set foot in the door around 20 years ago and it wasn’t a scratch on what it is now. It has some great beers on tap and the staff are really helpful. It’s a little crowded when it’s busy but this only helps add to the cracking atmosphere. I no longer live in Northampton (currently in the South Wales Valleys). My wish is that this place continues the good work it’s doing - and also I wish that I had something like this where I live! Well done to the owner, staff and the guy that keeps the live bands going. I’ll keep my eye on the upcoming bands here. Will definitely consider coming back (even from Wales)
