About This Pub
Ah, you know, if you're after a proper cosy pub in Harrogate, The Gardener’s Arms really hits the spot with its timeless appeal – think stone floors and crackling open fires that make winter visits feel extra special. The real ale, especially the Sam Smiths, is spot on and won't break the bank, and the staff are just brilliant, always up for a chat that makes you feel like a regular from the get-go. It's perfectly placed for a stop on a long walk, with that massive beer garden leading into the woods, which is ace if you've got the dog or little ones in tow, as they're welcome out there. On the downside, though, the no-kids, no-dogs, and no-phones policy inside might feel a tad restrictive if you're not in the mood for that level of tradition, and it's a shame they don't do food, so you might need to plan ahead for a bite. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint with mates, offering that genuine, unpretentious pub experience we all love, but it's worth knowing what you're getting into for the best visit.

Fantastic old pub with stone flooring small rooms open fires in winter. Real ale Sam Smiths at a good price would not change it
Perfect location for a pub on your long walk. Lovely & adorable landlady who made me feel very welcomed. Home feelings and she served me with a little chat as i was her local. Dog & child friendly with a huge beer garden at the backing which leading you in woodland. Great place, great & simple people. Btw found a Samsung mobile on my walk so handover to landlady because i wasn’t local and it perfect spot to pick up.
Surely come back again when in area.
Dropped in mid walk for a quick pint 🍻
Probably not for everyone, as no kids, dog or mobile phones in side the pub.
But they serve good cheap beer and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The best 👌 pub I've come across on a walk. It maybe oldy worldy but it's got plenty of charm and I love ❤️ it. The location is fantastic and the locals 👏 must love it because it serves the best Samuel Smiths beers 🍻 I've ever tasted. Definitely worth a visit ☺️.
Didn't have any food as we only popped in for a pint. Very friendly pub with a good atmosphere. Dogs aren't allowed in the pub but are allowed in the beer garden. We have two beagles so I'm glad the weather was good when we visited. If they had been allowed inside we would probably have ordered food but hey ho.
