The Four Ashes in Crosby

Ah, The Four Ashes – what a lovely spot it is, tucked away in Waterloo. From what I've gathered from the reviews and a bit of my own thinking, it's one of those places that just nails the basics: you've got this incredible selection of beers and ales that keeps things exciting, and the atmosphere is so chilled and homely, it's like sinking into your favourite armchair after a long day. The staff really shine too; they're welcoming and make you feel right at ease, which is no small thing in a world of rushed service. On the flip side, though, the hours are a tad limited – only five days a week, and Sundays seem to vary, so it might not be ideal if you're after a spontaneous Sunday session. Plus, their website's a bit of a letdown with some errors, and without a phone number, it's not the easiest to get hold of them. All in all, if you're a fan of quality pints in a laid-back setting, it's well worth a visit, but just keep those opening times in mind to avoid any disappointment. I'd say it's a solid choice for us lot who appreciate a good, honest pub without the fuss.
