About This Pub
Ah, The Flyer – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its easygoing charm in the heart of Chelmsford. From what I've heard from those who've popped in, the grub is a real winner; think hearty grilled dishes like burgers and steaks that are both delicious and decently priced, making it ideal for a casual bite without splashing out. The team behind the bar are absolute gems, always up for a chat and getting things sorted swiftly, which really adds to that homely feel. It's spot on for catching live action on the telly, whether it's the big rugby matches or football tournaments, and the beer garden is a lovely spot to unwind with a cold one on a nice day. On the downside, it can be a bit subdued at times, so if you're in the mood for a proper energetic night, you might find it a touch tame. All in all, it's a reliable choice for a relaxed get-together with friends, offering solid value and a friendly escape from the everyday hustle.

Every single thing in this place is impeccable especially the food. Jamie Zack Evans and every other member of staff are incredibly amazing!! 11/10 experience. Frequent flier at this pub because of the experience I’ve had!!!
It's our 2nd visit here. We booked a table as it was a Sunday and was worried it was potentially busy. We got there and it was quiet, clean and our table was ready even thou other tables were available if our booked one wasn't required. Food was delightful, drinks went down well. Service was quick and we had a good time. My only bugbear is that the cutlery wasn't fully cleaned.
The food was absolutely amazing and I can't believe how affordable it is there.
All the staff are lovely and welcoming.
A big thank you to Trish and we will definitely be making the flyer our regular ❤️
The food was very good and was very reasonably priced. They also make a fine latte. We struck up conversation with some other customers - everyone in here was very friendly. The service was excellent and fast. They had a decent selection of beers on tap, honestly, not the best I had on this trip to England. I also felt like the bathrooms could be cleaner. I didn't like the camera in the bathroom either, but I have nothing to hide.
That doesn't stop me from giving five stars because the food and the service was so good. I would come back.
Nice rump steak and tikka tandoori. Enjoyed the food and the staff was nice and friendly. Not too busy when we went. Would recommend!
