About This Pub
Ah, The Falcon Boutique Inn on Micklegate – it's one of those places that really grows on you if you're after a straightforward, no-fuss stay in York. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that charming, boutique feel with clean rooms and super comfy beds that make you feel right at home after a day of wandering the city streets. The staff sound like a friendly bunch, and the pub side of things is spot on with well-kept beer and a chilled atmosphere that's perfect for a quiet evening chat. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; some folks have mentioned it gets awfully warm in the rooms without proper ventilation, and there isn't much storage space, which can be a pain if you're travelling with more than a backpack. Plus, the noise from nearby can keep you up, and a few think it's a bit overpriced compared to other options. All in all, I'd say it's worth a go if you're looking for convenience and a good base to explore from, just pack a fan and keep your expectations realistic for the money.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The location is absolutely spot on, right in the heart of York and just a short walk from the train station, making it a breeze to explore the city.
-
Beds are dead comfy, perfect for catching some proper rest after a day out and about.
-
Rooms are generally clean and well-presented, giving that welcoming boutique feel.
-
It's got a really chilled-out atmosphere, with charming staff and great beer that's well kept – ideal for unwinding with a pint.
-
Overall, it's a solid choice for a short stay, especially if you're after something affordable and close to the action.
Cons
-
Rooms can get a bit too warm, particularly on the upper floors, and the fans provided aren't up to snuff, so you might need to sort your own.
-
There's not much in the way of hanging or wardrobe space, which can be a right nuisance if you're unpacking for a few days.
-
It can be quite noisy in the evenings from nearby goings-on, which might disrupt a good night's sleep.
-
Some rooms feel a tad tired and not quite worth the price, especially when you've stayed at better places for less.
-
Ventilation is lacking, so on warmer days, you might find yourself heading out just to cool off.

Was nice for afew days away. Only criticism was with the apartment being on the top floor it was so warm and the fan provided wasn't great so we bought our own
Other than that the location was great, bed was comfy and the apartment generally clean. Would stay again with the fan in hand
Great apartment. Perfect for a couple of days away! Clean and well presented. Bed was really comfortable. Walking distance to York center. Only slight negative was it does get hot on the warmer days with not much option to ventilate. Easily fixed by going out and enjoying York in the sun. We will be re booking again definitely.
The room was to a high standard at a good price close to the train station I would definitely recommend staying here if it your first time in York
Wonderful little pub. Really chilled out atmosphere, charming staff. Great beer well kept. A new favourite
Great location but room was a little tired....total lack of any kind of hanging/wardrobe space which was a little inconvenient and somewhat strange.
Ok stay but for the money not worth it in my opinion, have stayed at better places for less money.
Also, quite noisy in the late evening due to nearby venues being open late.
