What can I say, a bit dodgy but very artful.
Lovely bar staff, a couple of real ales on the bar.
We went to a gig upstairs, good sound guy made sure the artists music was at its best, and there was seating for the old people.
Just watch out you don’t get trampled by the photographer, tries to get through gaps that a mouse couldn’t squeeze in - ffs.
Went to the toilet and there was human feces on the walls ,floors looked like they had never seen a mop and the mirrors were disgusting. It was empty with 2 members of staff just playing on their phones so no excuse.
Fantastic pub with great staff and friendly clients, tip top music played in a great atmosphere, it is a "rock bar" but please don't be put off by that..just have yourselves a great night there!
Staff were great, it's nice to be in a pub where you get a smile and a bit of fun from the staff. Drinks are well priced and it's an authentic rock pub (unlike other local pretenders!)
This is definitely our favourite pub in York.
Decided to include The Artful Dodger in our epic York pub crawl. It was a Thursday evening and unexpectedly empty. It's an alternative pub so expect good rock or metal music and the bar itself is quite cool. I imagine with a few more patrons it would be pretty awesome though.
