About This Pub

Ah, The Edinburgh – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its warm welcome and lively chatter, especially if you're catching a game or meeting mates. From what I've gathered from the reviews, folks absolutely rave about the cosy setup, with a real fire going on those nippy nights and staff who make you feel like a regular from the get-go. The drinks are generally spot on and won't break the bank, and it's brilliant for dog owners or anyone up for a relaxed evening. That said, it's not all perfect; there have been a few moans about the beer not always being in top form, which is a shame when you're after that flawless pint. Overall, I'd say it's a solid choice for a good night out – worth seeking out if you're in the Waterloo area, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe try a few different options on the bar.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's warm, welcoming, and has that classic pub vibe that makes you feel right at home.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and always up for a chat, which really adds to the experience.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, with great beer options that hit the spot most of the time.
  • It's got comfy seating areas and a real fire, perfect for cosy nights, especially on those chilly Liverpool evenings.
  • Dog-friendly and ideal for casual meet-ups, like watching a match or joining a pub crawl – it's got a community feel that's hard to beat.
Cons
  • There might be the odd issue with beer quality, like it being cloudy or not quite up to par, which could disappoint if you're after a perfect pint.
  • No website means it's a bit tricky to check details in advance, so you might have to just pop in and see for yourself.

Sorry we didn't have any food, the pub was great first time we had ever been inside but a really nice pub with a real fire and on a cold night outside it was great, drinks prices where good, and the staff were very friendly so if you get a chance give them a visit 👍🏻

Nice classic pub, never been in before but was greeted by friendly locals who didn't mind moving out the way of the bar. Friendly staff and comfy seating areas, its bigger than it looks. Will be back for the xmas pub crawl :). Cant beat a dog friendly pub.

Potentially a cracking good pub. However, the quality of the White Rat ale was very disappointing - cloudy and listless. I will return and hope that the beer is better next time.
