About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Dukes – it's one of those lovely country pubs that just captures the essence of a good British get-together. From the moment you step in, with its thatched roof and cosy nooks, you get this real sense of community and relaxation. The staff are absolute gems, always making sure everyone feels welcome, whether you're there for a quick drink or something bigger like a wedding reception, which they've nailed based on the rave reviews. The food's another highlight; it's all cooked fresh, so things like the Sunday roast or a burger are well worth the slight wait, and they've got a cracking selection of ales and wines to wash it down. Plus, it's super dog-friendly and even has accommodation with a smashing breakfast, which is brilliant if you're staying over or attending an event. On the flip side, it can get pretty packed, especially with all the parties and live music, so you might find yourself queuing or needing to book ahead. And with no clear operating hours and that 'closed' status floating about, it's a good idea to double-check before you go, just to avoid any hassle. All in all, it's a gem of a spot for a proper pub experience, but like any place, it's not perfect – still, I'd say it's worth a visit for the good times it delivers.

A lovely dog friendly country pub, thatched roof, great atmosphere and friendly locals. Complimented by great service and a good selection of ales and wines.
Food is cooked fresh to order and is worth the wait. We thank the host for allowing us to overnight in our Motorhome and would like to return sometime in the future.
The Dukes hosted my daughter's wedding reception...we were all absolutely delighted! They went above and beyond to make sure the day went perfectly! It was a smallish wedding with 60 people and the venue was perfect...intimate and cosy and perfect for a buffet and lots of dancing! The package they provided was brilliant and very good value.. Including accommodation for the bride and groom and some guests...my daughter was also given a quaint little cottage to get ready in! The staff worked so hard and nothing was too much trouble...thanks so much 😘
We went to a 80th birthday celebration- The staff were fantastic bunch of people friendly, accommodating and welcoming to giving us great customer service- we stayed over room was comfortable- the breakfast was the best and staff were there with everything we needed so thank you
Quaint pub with good grub. Went with a large group of 20. Tables were ready for our reservation. We called our orders in ahead. Relaxing atmosphere. Try the pork or burger. Live music started as we were leaving.
First visit to this quaint traditional pub. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Just had drinks this time but will definitely return to have dinner. Can get busy as they cater for parties wedding reception etc. Also is a b&b. It was great to visit an independent local pub. Long may they continue
