About This Pub

Ah, The Duck in the Pond – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper haven after a long day, especially if you're in the Harrow area. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place really shines with its warm, inviting atmosphere that strikes a nice balance between cosy chats and a bit of lively energy, making it spot-on for everything from a quick mid-week bite to a family Sunday lunch. The food menu is a real winner too, packed with delicious options that cater to all tastes and dietary needs, and at reasonable prices that don't leave you feeling short-changed. The staff deserve a mention as well; they're genuinely friendly and on point, often going above and beyond to ensure you're looked after, which adds that extra touch of homeliness. On the flip side, while the recent reviews are glowing, the overall rating hints at some inconsistencies – maybe a service hiccup here or there, or perhaps it's just that it gets rammed on busy evenings, leading to a bit of a wait. Plus, those operating hours look a smidge confusing with multiple listings, so it's worth double-checking before you head out. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub enthusiasts, with more highs than lows, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after a reliable spot to unwind and enjoy a pint or a meal.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – warm, welcoming, and just the right mix of cosy and lively, perfect for catching up with mates.
  • The food is top-notch with a fantastic variety, including options for kids, veggies, vegans, and those Sunday roasts that hit the spot every time.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive; shout-out to folks like Nikki and Katie who go the extra mile to make you feel right at home.
  • Spacious beer garden and ample parking make it a breeze to visit, especially after a day out nearby like at Wembley or the countryside.
  • Prices are reasonable for the quality, with fixed menus that offer great value without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • The overall rating sits at 4.2, suggesting that while recent visits have been spot-on, there might be occasional slip-ups in service or food that aren't captured in the latest reviews.
  • Operating hours seem a bit muddled with varying times listed for Sundays, which could lead to confusion if you're planning a visit.
  • As it's a popular spot, it can get quite busy during peak times, potentially making it a tad noisy or hard to find a seat if you pop in without booking.

Amazing local pub with a delicious menu. I come here very often as they have lots of food and drink variety that caters for all. Highly recommend! Thanks to the staff who work very hard especially in busy periods. Special thanks to Nikki who gave us a free cocktail the last time I was there! :-)

Had an absolutely fantastic time at The Duck and the Pond! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of cozy charm and lively buzz. The food was delicious — the Food was spot on, and the drinks selection was impressive. A special shout-out to Katie, the manager — she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor really made a difference. You can tell she genuinely cares about the place and the customers. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Great atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well looked after especially from Nikki. The food was the real highlight, fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Love the menu, which was cooked to perfection, and the rest of our table was just as impressed with their meals. The drinks selection was excellent too, with a great range of beers, wines, and cocktails. Whether you’re stopping by for a drink or a full meal, this place is a must-visit. Can’t wait to return!

A colleague recommended this place years ago and I’m absolutely gutted that I hadn’t visited before. The atmosphere was really welcoming and cozy, and the food and drink were brilliant. The team were also really friendly. They’ve got ample parking and lots of seating available inside. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to relax and enjoy a drink and delish pub grub. Thanks Duck in the Pond!

We booked prior to our visit. On arrival, we were directed to our table which had been reserved with my name. We perused the menu and chose meals from the Sunday lunch menu. The food was delicious and rather substantial considering how very reasonably priced the set menu was. All staff were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. We were asked immediately on ordering if anyone in our party had allergies and there wasn’t a long wait for our food to arrive, it was beautifully presented and piping hot! The establishment itself was tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. We never once felt rushed. After our meal, we took the opportunity to sit outside with our drinks, there are plenty of shaded areas to sit under as well as the usual outdoor picnic style seating. Overall, The Duck In The Pond is a great little spot for a meal with friends or family, staff are welcoming and inviting, it’s value for money and well worth a visit!
