About This Pub
Ah, The Dove – it's one of those timeless London spots that just draws you in with its riverside charm and historic feel. Picture this: you're sat on the terrace, pint in hand, watching the Thames glide by on a lazy afternoon. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food's a winner too, with seasonal pub classics that folks rave about, and the staff often go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. It's no wonder it's got such a solid reputation overall. But, let's keep it real, it's not all sunshine and roses – prices can sting a bit, especially if you're expecting generous portions, and service might vary depending on how busy it is. Still, for a special catch-up with mates or a romantic evening out, I'd say it's a gem worth visiting, as long as you're prepared for that classic London premium.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The riverside location is absolutely stunning, especially on a sunny day when you can soak up the views of the Thames from the terrace – it's perfect for a relaxing pint or meal outdoors.
-
The staff are generally friendly and welcoming, with some reviewers highlighting their polite and attentive service, making you feel right at home.
-
The food is a real highlight, featuring refined pub classics made from fresh, seasonal ingredients – think delicious roasts or sharing plates that hit the spot after a riverside walk.
-
It's got that classic, traditional pub atmosphere that's been a part of London life for centuries, offering a cosy spot for a chat and a drink.
Cons
-
It can be quite pricey, with some meals feeling like a bit of a rip-off for the portion sizes, especially when you're paying over £20 for a dish that leaves you wanting more.
-
Service isn't always spot-on; a few folks have mentioned waits to pay or staff who weren't particularly friendly, which can put a dampener on the experience.
-
Portions might be on the small side, particularly for the cost, so if you're after a hearty feed, you might need to order extras or plan accordingly.

Great little place away from bustling Hammersmith town Centre along the river. Very old traditional pub if you get seating outside the views across the river are lovely.. the food is great and the building is superb
Very expensive, considering how tiny the portions were, we were left sitting for 20 mins to pay at the end. Of course staff were busy, but they weren’t very friendly. Roast came with barely any gravy only TWO roast potatoes and tiny bit of chicken see picture for £23 bit of a rip off. A real shame bc I was excited to try the dove, and treat myself to a roast but at this price for this little food - it’s insulting.
Attended a Sunday afternoon, having a reservation for food.
Friendly staff, nice food, great terrace with views of the river!
The perfect combo!!
A beautiful riverside pub near Hammersmith. They have a terrace so when the weather is good, you can sit right by the river. I went there for dinner recently and had the steak along with a glass of Merlot. I also shared baked Camembert with my friends. We paid just over £50 each.
Amazing people! Steward the waiter, never turns anyone down, finds a table if he can. He is so polite and friendly. Food is amazing, team is like a family. Best place to go along the Thames. Also many thanks to our lovely waitress Mounika! Brilliant service and help.
