Awful experience at Smokeshack in Grimsby. Went once a few months ago and food was practically cold. I understand the 'low n slow' cooking and approve of it as when done properly it's lovely! But the pulled pork was practically cold.
Went to try it again Monday evening, resturant wasn't particularly busy, maybe 10 people in if that. We stood by the door to which we got no greet or anything after 5 minutes so we found ourselves a table and still, another 5 minutes no service. We then went up to politely ask for menus to which the guy told us he would be with us shortly to get our drinks, which after another 15 minutes waiting we had absolutely no attention directed at our table. We ended up just getting up and leaving, and personally we won't be eating there again nor recommending anyone we know to eat there, especially considering smokehouse which is a short distance away is much, much better in terms of service. It's a shame because the location is brilliant, and the food when done correctly also is. The thing I feel is the main problem is the place feels massively understaffed, it looked like there was one guy doing orders, bar and bringing the food out which is absolutely absurd for a place this size.
Amazing service coming from a hospitality industry myself, the team are very friendly with great recommendations as I was unsure which cocktail to choose (had the strawberry bang bang on 2 for 1 offer). I had the steak served on a volcanic rock truly a wow piece which can be cooked to exact preference, along side the delicious dirty fries. Me and my partner both enjoyed our evening, a night to remember! Fair prices for the quality of food and drinks
Party of Seven here at the smokeshack in Cleethorpes. Burgers were amazing and very very tasty. Ribs were also massive. Everyone enjoyed all the food that was put in front of us, the amount of food did beat some of us. Would go again.
Will say check the bill as we had extra items on ours.
