About This Pub
Ah, The Dog House – what a gem in Morley! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really nails the whole relaxed pub experience. Picture this: you're walking in with your dog in tow, and the staff greet you with a smile that's as genuine as they come, making it feel like you're catching up with old mates. They've got Sky Sports blaring on the screens, which is brilliant for catching the game, and there's heaps of entertainment on offer, like shuffleboard, pool, darts, and even a fantastic quiz on Sundays that keeps things lively. The drinks selection is spot on too – affordable and varied, whether you're in the mood for a foaming pint or a tasty coffee paired with some cake. It's super family-friendly and welcoming to kids, which is a nice touch in a world where not everywhere caters to that. On the flip side, though, it's only open five days a week, so you might find yourself out of luck on those quieter days, and if you're hoping for a proper sit-down meal, it's more about the drinks and light bites rather than a full menu. Plus, their website's a bit glitchy, so it pays to check in person or via their Facebook page for the latest. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back night out – I'd say give it a go if you're in Leeds and fancy a place that's got heart and a bit of character.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's incredibly dog-friendly, which is perfect if you're out with your furry friend – they even get special treats like puppachinos!
-
The staff are always so welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a brilliant atmosphere with Sky Sports on multiple screens, plus fun activities like shuffleboard, pool, darts, and even live music or quiz nights on Sundays.
-
Prices are spot on – very reasonable for the great selection of drinks, and you can enjoy everything from a pint to a delicious coffee and cake.
-
It's a cosy, comfortable spot that's well thought out, with a nice variety of drinks and space that makes it welcoming for kids too.
Cons
-
It seems to be closed two days a week, which might be a bit of a downer if you're planning a mid-week visit.
-
There's a bit of confusion about whether it's more of a bar or a cafe, so if you're after a full meal, it might not hit the spot beyond drinks and cakes.
-
Their online presence isn't the smoothest – the website had some issues, so it could be tricky to get all the latest info before heading over.

Is The Dog House a bar or a cafe? I don't honestly know. What I can tell you is that it pulls off what it is magnificently.
A really friendly, comfortable, cosy place to rest up and enjoy a delicious coffee and cake or to chill out with a pint of foaming ale.
Went on Saturday night. Great venue well thought out decor and use of space. Loved the pool table upstairs. Nice variety of drinks. Welcome addition to Morley.
