About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about The Dog House – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a laid-back evening. Tucked away on Station Street in Kirkby in Ashfield, it's got this lovely, renovated feel with beautiful decor and an outdoor courtyard that makes you want to linger. The drinks are a highlight; they've got an outstanding selection on draft, plus some cracking cocktails that folks absolutely love. And if you're into food, their pizzas and the occasional pulled pork burger are proper tasty when they're on offer – though it's not every day, so it's worth checking ahead. What really stands out is how dog-friendly it is; they provide water bowls and treats, which is brilliant if you're out with your pooch. The staff are top-notch too, always friendly and creating a welcoming atmosphere, especially with sports on the telly to add to the buzz. On the downside, it's a small spot, so it can get a tad cosy when it's busy, and they're only open four days a week, which might cramp your plans if you're thinking of a spontaneous mid-week visit. All in all, it's a cracking little place with heaps of positive vibes from the reviews, but it's got its quirks – I'd say it's ideal for a casual catch-up with mates, as long as you time it right.

Cons
-
It's a small place, so it can feel a bit cramped on busier evenings, which might not suit everyone looking for more space.

They're only open four days a week, typically from around 1 pm to 11 pm, which is a pity if you're after a mid-week pint.

Small place but 10 out of 10! One of most favourite pubs... pizza's are proper nice
Fantastic pub, decor beautiful.
Love to take friends here for cocktails and pizzas.
A great little pub that sits in the centre of Kirkby in Ashfield, a calm place to sit an have a cheeky drink on a drop in when taking the dog out, water bowls a dog treats on request. An outstanding selection of drinks on the draft and the pumps… cocktails are also an option if you fancy a flash splash.
Pizza served on a Thursday with a pizza and a drink offer for £12. Friday Saturday nights are a great place to start you evening off with a cheese board on the Saturday night to take quick snack as you go too or from the bar. With live music every two weeks on the friday, the atmosphere is electric for such a small pub, with sports on the tv most days a Big games are always shown…. The Staff are friendly an accommodating for any needs you may require with a smile on there faces they’re very approachable for any questions or just a chat if you fancy it.
So pop in for cheeky one, because you deserve it an treat yourself.
What a find this was. In the area and decided to check it out and quickly became a favourite. Sport on the TV (England U-21's), a great range of drinks, decent selection of bites, and most importantly of all a great atmosphere and really friendly staff who make every visit a pleasure. Reasonable value and the décor is fantastic and fitting with the vibe. Also a small outside area. Ideal for pets too (suited given the name) First time I've been in the Dog House and done nothing wrong, and really enjoyed it.
I used to come when it was a tiny pub, now it’s beautifully renovated with an outdoor courtyard and they have started introducing food infrequently. If you manage to go when they serve food you won’t be disappointed! I had a pulled pork burger and a pint of their Dog house beer, absolutely stunning. Far surpassed my expectations and I wish they had a regular menu! Food did take a while but worth the wait, staff were friendly and the vibe is nice. The rock music is good but maybe a tiny bit too loud to be quite as relaxing as most would like but it does set a fun edgy tone.
