About This Pub
Ah, The Crown – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its warm, homely feel right in the heart of Chorley. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the staff really go the extra mile with their chat and knowledge of the drinks, and the cask ales are always a highlight, served up fresh and at prices that won't dent your wallet. It's buzzing during big events, with TVs showing the action and a dart board for a bit of fun, plus those lovely views of the church make it a proper nice spot to settle in for the evening. On the downside, though, their online setup is a bit lacking – that website glitch means you might have to rely on word of mouth or a quick call to sort out the details. Still, with such positive vibes from visitors, it's well worth popping by for a pint; just keep an eye on those opening times to avoid any surprises. Overall, it's a solid choice for anyone after a relaxed night out with good company and even better brews.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and full of banter, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
-
They take real pride in their cask ales and beers, with options like Lakeland Gold and John Smith's that are spot on and well-priced.
-
It's a lively spot, especially during events like racing on TV, with a great atmosphere and extras like a dart board to keep things entertaining.
-
Tucked away on a pedestrian street with beautiful views of the church opposite, it's a charming place to relax and enjoy a pint.
Cons
-
The website's a bit of a mess with errors, so it's not the easiest way to get the latest info or check what's on offer.
-
The operating hours listed seem a tad inconsistent, which might leave you scratching your head about when it's actually open.

Enjoyed are visit, will be going again! Far better than most of our pubs in Wigan.
Popped in with Flatima and Casta. The busiest pub so far with the Aintree Grand National Meeting racing on TV. ( At least 4TV's) Lovely pint of Lakeland Gold. Also sell Landlord. A one room pub on the pedestrian street. Dart board at rear. Beautiful Spring views of the church opposite. No 6 on Chorley Real Ale Trail.
