About This Pub
Ah, The Courtyard – it's one of those places that really warms you up on a visit, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a standout; folks rave about the amazing lunches, like that Friday fish and chips deal, and the cocktails are spot on for a cheeky afternoon tipple. The staff seem like absolute gems, always on hand to make sure you're looked after, and it's just the ticket for a laid-back catch-up with friends – imagine tucking into afternoon tea with a group and walking away with doggy bags because it's so generous! That lively atmosphere adds to the charm, making it feel like a proper local haunt. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard a few tales of waiting around for drinks or food, which can put a dampener on things, especially if you're starving after a long morning. Then there's the outdoor area, which sounds lovely in theory, but if the heaters aren't playing ball, it might leave you shivering on a cooler day. And watch out for those sweeter drinks on the specials – they might be a bit too much for some tastes. All in all, it's a solid spot worth checking out if you're in Rotherham, but go in with realistic expectations, and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons

The food here is absolutely spot on – from tasty lunches like fish and chips to delicious cocktails, it's a real treat for the taste buds.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's got a brilliant atmosphere, perfect for catching up with mates over afternoon tea or a casual drink – especially in that buzzing environment.
-
Great value for money, with options like a £8.50 fish and chip lunch that leaves you satisfied without breaking the bank.
-
Ideal for groups, whether it's a big afternoon tea session or just a relaxed meet-up; plenty of positive vibes all around.
Cons
-
Service can be a bit hit or miss at times, like waiting ages for drinks or dealing with menu changes that throw off your plans.
-
Outdoor seating might let you down on chillier days if the heat lamps aren't working, making it less cosy than you'd hope.
-
Some drinks, especially from special menus, can be overly sweet, which might not suit everyone's palate.
-
Occasional slip-ups with timings, such as breakfast finishing earlier than expected, could leave you hanging if you're not quick off the mark.

Really nice cocktails and food! Had a Zombie cocktail and was great for a lunch plus a BBQ chicken wrap. Both really nice and the staff were attentive. Coming back soon!
Enjoying the Friday " Fish & chip" lunch mushy peas & pot of tea. £8.50 ABSOLUTELY delicious Thank you Courtyard
Went for a drink with family, place was busy, we sat in the outdoor seating area. The heat lamps weren't working so it was quite cold. The drink were VERY sweet from the Christmas menu but overall, a nice place.
I booked a table for 11.30. When we arrived I was told the breakfast menu had ended and could I wait until 12pm for the lunch menu.
Our party sat down and were not asked if we wanted a drink for 30 minutes. After being seated for 40 minutes I asked if we could order food. I was then told that staff were busy cleaning the kitchen! Another member of staff took our food order after being seated for over an hour. I will say that the food was delicious however I will not be returning due to the service.
