About This Pub
You know, when I think about The Coast Restaurant Bar, it's got this real charm that makes it stand out for anyone after a taste of West African flavours right in the heart of Dudley. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a highlight – people rave about the tilapia, wings, and chips, all served up with great presentation and portions that could feed a crowd, leaving you with tasty leftovers to boot. The place itself feels modern and clean, ideal for a weekend sesh with some lively music and that welcoming touch from the owner, who actually comes over for a chat, which is just lovely. On the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing; a few mates have mentioned dodgy service moments, like struggling to get an answer on the phone or dealing with rude responses, and there have been grumbles about changes to the music that threw off the usual groove. Still, with a solid 4.6 rating from folks who've been there, it's worth popping in if you're up for an adventure – just go in with an open mind and maybe check ahead to avoid any hitches. All in all, it's a gem with its ups and downs, perfect for a casual catch-up over some cracking food.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious West African dishes like extra large tilapia, wings, and chips that leave you wanting more, with generous portions that can feed a group and still have leftovers.
-
The atmosphere is welcoming and modern, with a clean venue and great facilities that make it perfect for a lively weekend night out, complete with enjoyable music and a real community feel.
-
Service can be brilliant when it's on form, with the owner popping over to say hello and making you feel right at home, which adds a lovely personal touch to your visit.
Cons
-
Service isn't always reliable; some folks have had a tough time getting through on the phone or dealing with unprofessional responses, which can put a dampener on the evening.
-
The music routine might change unexpectedly, leaving regulars disappointed if it's not what they came for, as one person mentioned after their trip from Cambridgeshire.
-
There have been reports of the place feeling a bit hit or miss with opening times or general experiences, so it might not always live up to expectations.

Today DJ have changed routine of music did not enjoy our night we come every 2 weeks from cambridgeshire for the food music but it was different hope our next visit will be different, we come for the different African music always played
Absolutely amazing service and food, we had the extra large tilapia and wings it was so lovely! Presentation is great too! Loved their chips. All this fed 4 people and we still had left overs to take away.
The worst experience ever had in food is with The Coast Restaurant. So unprofessional in their response and service. How stranded I got to have a Restaurant written “OPEN” in the front but to ring a million times while in front of it with no response. Eventually someone picked up and shouting rudely saying “I’ll be back in 10-15mins”… I travelled all around just to get to this place. I was wondering at some point if the food was free of charge that I wasn’t gonna have to pay??? Reason why the response was like that. Only if I had any other option at such moment where I was so hungry and already running late for work. After almost 2 hours, this annoyingly looking woman came back and with no remorse nor appologies still said “place your order quickly I’m busy”…OMG!!! I think I shouldn’t say further cos I doubt if they would ever see my foot nor my friends’/fam in there ever again.
The best place to belong. Clean, good food, good management etc. We were there last night and the owner is a breath of fresh air. She is so lovely, she is very polite and came to greet us on the table. I'm coming back with my family here for my birthday.
Such a lovely place a much more modern venue and setting amazing luxury like facilities.
Great weekend night life and even better food 10/10 would recommend
