About This Pub

Ah, The Coachmakers Arms – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles the moment you walk in. I've heard from folks who've popped in that the staff and regulars are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making newcomers feel part of the gang. The live music and karaoke nights sound like a proper laugh, drawing in a crowd that loves a singalong or a bit of toe-tapping entertainment. Plus, the drinks are fairly priced, and that cheeky parrot Billie is a fun surprise that adds real character to the place. On the flip side, it's a shame there's no website to look up the latest goings-on, which might make it harder for out-of-towners to plan ahead. And while it's got that genuine community feel, it might not suit everyone if you're after something a tad more modern or less chatty. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and some good times, especially if you're in Great Yarmouth and fancy a spot with heart.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the get-go.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere with live music on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, plus karaoke that's a real highlight.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, especially the real ales, which are spot on for a proper pint.
  • The quirky parrot named Billie adds a fun and unique touch that sets this pub apart.
Cons
  • Without a website, it's a bit tricky to check details or plan a visit in advance.
  • As a community-focused spot, it might feel more tailored to locals, so it could be less ideal if you're after something more polished or touristy.

We stumbled in here just to get out of the rain. We received a warm welcome, and the lady behind the bar was lovely. We don't know the area, but we were chatting to most of the people in there who helped us find our way. We had a lovely pint too.

Best pub in Great Yarmouth. Friendly staff. Community pub. Atmosphere is fantastic. Live music Wednesday. Saturday and Sundays. The regular singer Ivan is a must see if you like music from the 50s onwards . Drinks are reasonable. You won't be disappointed.

Brilliant place to go for Karaoke and Live Music. This has been my local for around five years now and hopefully many more to come, lovely staff and lovely customers we've never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome here, we moved up here from Romford Essex back in 2019, after frequenting most of the boozers around here I can honestly say it's one of the best puns around here. Drinks are reasonably priced and always something going on, they have bingo too.
