About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Church Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local favourite, you know? Tucked away in Cheadle Hulme, it's got that timeless charm with its traditional lounge, a cosy log fire to warm you up on a nippy evening, and a hidden garden that's perfect for a bit of fresh air with your pint. The food really steals the show; think scrumptious Sunday lunches that folks rave about, or that Wednesday steak night that's become a bit of a ritual – it's all homemade, beautifully presented, and uses seasonal ingredients that make every bite feel special. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a friendly smile and spot-on service that makes you feel like you're catching up with old mates rather than just popping in for a meal. It's wonderfully family-friendly and even welcomes dogs, which is brilliant if you're out with the little ones or your furry friend. On the flip side, it does tend to buzz on those popular evenings, so booking ahead is a must to snag a table, and if you're after something a tad more contemporary, the classic setup might feel a bit old-school. All in all, it's a top spot for a relaxed get-together, whether you're there for a quick drink or a full-blown feast – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a place that delivers on both good vibes and great value.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, with delicious home-cooked meals from breakfast through to evening specials like those mouth-watering Sunday roasts and steak nights – it's proper comforting grub that'll have you coming back for more.
  • The service is warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home; the staff are attentive and friendly, turning a simple visit into a lovely chatty experience.
  • It's a cosy, traditional spot with a relaxed atmosphere, complete with a log fire for those chilly days, a hidden beer garden for sunnier ones, and it's brilliantly family-friendly and dog-friendly too.
  • Plenty of perks like free parking, WiFi, and even EV charging nearby make it super convenient for a quick stop or a full evening out, and they've got a great selection of cask ales and wines to keep everyone happy.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy on popular nights like Wednesdays for steak night or Sundays for roasts, so you might need to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
  • Being a traditional pub, it might not suit those after something more modern or adventurous in terms of decor or menu variety, though the ever-changing specials do add a nice touch.

Wow. The best Sunday Lunch ever...We went for Mother's Day and the food is so good. The service and staff are fantastic. We couldn't of asked for more. I've already booked for this Friday....it's like going to a Theme Park and finding a ride you love, then going "again, again please". Thanks ppl.

Absolutely amazing service received today. I was amazed at the amount of food and the food its self was fabulous. We all left full and wanting to return again soon. There was four of us in our party , booked in yesterday and each and everyone of us had amazing meals. So reasonable and they even finished off surprising me with a special birthday dessert. Thank you so much , what a great team, lovely atmosphere. I will be recommending highly and of course visit g again. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Staff were very helpful and informative. The atmosphere was really nice, cosy and relaxed. I will definitely be coming here again. The food was of excellent standard. For starters, I had the soup which was really delicious and fresh. The bread was really fresh and crunchy. For my main, I ordered the The Cheshire pork leg with roast potatoes. This was really delicious and filling. A great experience and I strongly recommend to come here again. The children ordered chips and the cheeseburger. The burgers were really fresh, juicy and big too!
