About This Pub
Ah, The Church, what a lovely little find in Anfield! I have to say, it's one of those places that just warms your heart the second you step inside. Picture this: an old church that's been given a new lease of life as a pub, complete with a massive projector for watching the footy – it's perfect if you're a Liverpool supporter or just fancy soaking up the match-day buzz. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the staff are absolute stars; they go out of their way to make sure everyone's having a good time, like that mention of Jane providing excellent service. The drinks flow nicely with a great selection, and the food doesn't disappoint either – think solid pub classics and those Sunday roasts that folks rave about, all without breaking the bank. It's open most days from about noon until 11 at night, so it's ideal for a relaxed afternoon or an evening out. On the flip side, it does get heaving on game days, which might not suit everyone, and their online setup seems a bit wonky, making it harder to get the lowdown before you go. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a pint and a chat – I'd definitely recommend giving it a try if you're in the area, as it's got that genuine, community feel that makes you want to come back.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – it's a converted church, which gives it this unique, welcoming vibe that feels like a cosy social club.
-
Service is top-notch; the staff are incredibly friendly and work really hard, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's a fantastic spot for watching football, with a massive screen and loads of space to sit or stand, especially on match days when the excitement is electric.
-
Drinks selection is spot on, with plenty of options to choose from, and the food is proper good – think honest pub grub and highly praised Sunday roasts at fair prices.
-
It's open every day from around midday till late, making it super convenient for a casual get-together or a quick pint after exploring Anfield.
Cons
-
The online presence could do with a bit of sprucing up; their website had some issues when I tried to check it out, which might make planning a visit a tad tricky.
-
It can get pretty packed on big match days, so you might have to jostle for a spot or plan ahead if you're not keen on crowds.

The coolest place! And what excellent service by Jane!
Match day when Liverpool won the league. First time visit. What a great place to watch football and have a drink. Converted church. More like a social club. Loads of space to sit or stand and still see the big screen. Friendly staff all working very hard. Loads of selection on drinks. There was also a small food counter serving burgers, chios, hot dogs which looked good before kick off, but I didn't try these myself. Will visit again if I'm unable to get football tickets and want to watch the game on the big screen instead.
incredible. I can't believe a place like this exists. so well done. food and service are top notch. amen 😂😂
This place was awesome. Old church renovated into a pub with a massive projector thats 5 min walking distance from anfield. It's a shame we didn't get a chance to be here on a game day
No praying required.. Great little visit after a mooch around Anfield with Dad, stopped here for a pint and some good honest pub grub and it did not disappoint on quality and decent fair prices! Highly recommend and looking forward to the ‘Sunday roast’ which was highly rated by others in the venue, see you soon!
Only consideration to be aware of, is we don’t see any disabled access so worth noting and phoning venue to double check
