About This Pub
Ah, The Cabbage Hall Bar & Grill – it's one of those places in Liverpool that really pulls you in with its charm, especially if you're a fan of sports bars. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food stands out as a real winner; think hearty bar classics, delicious starters, and that legendary Sunday roast that's got everyone raving. The staff seem like absolute stars too, always on hand with a smile and making sure you feel right at home, which adds to that warm, welcoming feel. It's spotlessly clean and ideal for a relaxed afternoon or buzzing match day near Anfield. On the downside, though, prices can jump a bit during busy times like games or concerts, and there have been a few tales of orders not quite hitting the mark – like ending up with unexpected beans instead of what you asked for, or paying extra for something that doesn't quite pan out. Still, with an overall solid rating, it's worth a visit if you're in the area, just maybe keep an eye on the details to avoid any surprises. All in all, it's a solid spot for a pint and a plate, but like any pub, it's got its highs and lows.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot-on, with classics like Sunday roasts and a brilliant kids' menu that makes it family-friendly.
-
Staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going the extra mile to make your visit memorable.
-
It's got a warm, relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding, especially if you're there for a football match or just a casual catch-up.
-
Handy location right in Anfield, close to the big stadiums, making it a top choice for match days or exploring Liverpool.
Cons
-
Prices can sneak up on you, like during events when drinks go up by a pound or so, which might sting a bit.
-
There have been a few mix-ups with orders, such as getting meat that's not cooked to your liking or missing sides you asked for.
-
Some paid extras, like reserving a special area for occasions, haven't always delivered as promised, leading to a bit of disappointment.

We went today to meet an old friend, and the pub was just lovely, it was spotless, the service behind the bar was excellent and the food was great, thank you for a lovely afternoon, this pub would knock spots off most in Liverpool. Well done to staff and manager 👍
Been coming to this place for the football home games all last season £10 to park your car great breakfast or a Sunday dinner (On a Sunday) But last game of the season they put a £1 on all drinks, I've been back for the Bruce springsteen concerts at Anfield and they have put another £1 on a pint £6.70 for Madri They are ripping people off when it's busy for no reason such a shame as it is a nice clean pub
But they see it as a time to take advantage when a concert is on to put there beer up to crazy prices, Does it cost more when your buzy, Don't get how you can do this to people Don't you think it costs us enough to get there park and have something to eat without you putting extra on beer? If there is a concert on or Liverpool are about to win the league keep away they will rip you off.
Went for a pub lunch. Ordered mixed grill at nearly £22. Bar staff asked how I’d like my meat (well done) but got medium, bar staff asked if I would like mushrooms and peppercorn sauce. (Yes) didn’t get this.
Some how, I ended up with a pot of beans 😂
I originally wanted a lamb shank roast, apparently the signage outside is wrong and they don’t serve this after 19:30 on a Sunday.
Outside states 20:30.
We was also asked to leave by 21:15 because they was closing (not enough customers apparently)
Definitely won’t be going here again.
Spent more that £100 and felt like we wasn’t wanted here
Had a wake there after cremating a family member. Paid £50 for a ‘cordoned off’ area, but there was no designated area in any regard. The food and drinks are good, and the pub itself is nice enough, but I wouldn’t recommend letting them pocket any money for special occasions because that’s all you’re doing, handing them money for nothing
Went there to grab a bite on matchday and the day after. The food was ready really fast even on matchday. I would say top tier pub food. We had BBQ chicken, Beef & Gravy pie, Classic burger, and we tried Sticky Toffee pudding with vanilla ice-cream and Biscoff cheesecake also served with vanilla ice-cream.
It is really close to Anfield, big plus.
