About This Pub
You know, when I popped into The Bus Yard Bar, it really won me over with its unique setup in converted buses and containers right by the beach – it's got that effortless charm that makes you want to linger. The drinks are an absolute highlight; think craft cocktails packed with fresh fruit and a solid range of beers that pair perfectly with the laid-back scene. And the food? Well, from the burgers to the vegan options and loaded chips, it's all spot on and hits the mark for a casual bite. The staff are lovely too, always up for a chat and quick to help out, like when they double-checked ingredients for someone with an allergy. It's dead dog-friendly as well, which is a nice touch if you're out with your four-legged mate. But, let's be honest, it's not without its downsides – the whole place feels a bit exposed to the elements, so on a chilly or rainy day, you might end up shivering without proper heaters or waterproof seating, and your meal could go cold before you've finished. Some have mentioned the live music wrapping up early, which leaves it a tad quiet. All in all, it's a cracking choice for a sunny afternoon catch-up, but I'd say plan around the weather to make the most of it.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
Fantastic location right by the beach, making it ideal for a relaxed day out with stunning views and a lively atmosphere
-
Top-notch drinks selection, including fresh cocktails with real fruit and excellent beers that really hit the spot
-
Delicious street food options like burgers, brisket subs, and vegan choices that cater to different tastes and dietary needs
-
Friendly and attentive staff who go the extra mile, such as checking ingredients for allergies or offering treats to dogs
-
A welcoming, dog-friendly vibe with great music and events that add to the fun on a sunny day
Cons
-
It's quite weather-dependent, getting cold and uncomfortable without outdoor heaters, which can spoil the experience
-
Seating isn't always waterproof, so rainy days might not be as enjoyable and could lead to a damp visit
-
Food tends to cool down quickly outdoors, which is a shame when you've got something tasty like the Greek sharer box
-
Live music might stop early, leaving things a bit quiet sooner than you'd hope
-
It might not be the best for repeat visits if the weather turns, as some folks have found it less appealing then

Visited Sat lunchtime. Great place to sit and watch people (and dogs) enjoying the beach.
Also the Busbar has some excellent beers and cocktails, great to see really fresh fruit in the cocktails.
We also ordered food, the brisket sub, burgers, falafel & humus buddha bowl and two types of loaded chips. Totally above what you would expect from average Street food - in quality, taste and presentation. Well worth the positive review!!!
Brilliant bar and food in a fantastic location. Staff were superb. Ordered the spicy Thai vegan burger and asked if it contained Quorn (I have a Quorn allergy). Staff thoroughly checked ingredients and three staff double checked with me. The burger was fine and it was delicious. Enjoyed eating and drinking looking out towards the sea. Great atmosphere. I would recommend this place for a nice walk and a brilliant place to stop at along the way.
Lovely pit stop whilst on a walk, great atmosphere with some music playing, dogs are allowed also, staff came around and offered my dog a little biscuit 🦴
Food was also lovely! We ordered the salt n pepper chicken & chips!
Recommend heading down if it’s a nice sunny day! ☀️
Absolutely perfect on a hot, sunny day. A glass of wine (in a plastic cup), the sun beaming down, and the background chatter of Scousers – honestly, bliss. The whole vibe was spot on.
It was clean (even the portaloos, surprisingly), there were a few different options for food and drinks, and despite being busy, the wait times were totally reasonable.
Only downside? The prices weren’t quite as perfect as the atmosphere – a bit on the steep side. Still, a great place to spend a sunny afternoon.
Enjoyed the food, they should’ve had more waterproof seating. They had live music on but it stopped soon after we sat down. Would recommend but probably wouldn’t go back - unless they had outdoor heaters as it got very cold and the food got cold fast. We had the greek sharer box which was £30 for 2 chicken wraps, chips, halloumi and a Greek salad. There was another stand which had a very good gluten free menu, and a couple of vegetarian options like falafel
Didn’t try the alcoholic drinks
