About This Pub

Ah, The Bull's Head – it's one of those pubs that really tries to do right by everyone, with its mix of pizzas, carvery roasts, and even all-you-can-eat breakfasts that make it a go-to for a casual get-together. I reckon it's spot on for value, especially with those daily deals and family options that help keep things affordable and fun for all ages. The staff are often cheery and make the place feel like a proper community hub, plus they've got initiatives to support local charities, which is lovely to see. But honestly, it's not all smooth sailing; some folks have had off days with the food, like bland veggies or gristly meat that doesn't quite hit the mark, and service can be a bit sluggish when things get hectic. Still, with an overall solid rating, it's worth popping in if you're nearby – just go in with realistic expectations and maybe check out their app for rewards to sweeten the deal.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are really friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • Fantastic value for money on things like the all-you-can-eat breakfast and carvery – it's a proper bargain for a filling meal.
  • Plenty of parking space, which is a lifesaver if you're driving over.
  • It's super family-friendly with deals for kids, so it's great for a relaxed outing with the little ones.
  • The atmosphere is warm and clean, giving off that cosy pub vibe that's perfect for catching up with mates.
Cons
  • Food quality can be a bit hit or miss, like the carvery meat sometimes being tough and tasteless, which is a shame for a pub staple.
  • Service can drag on, especially when it's busy, leaving you waiting longer than you'd like for your food.
  • Some areas, like the food service spots, might not be as spotless as they could be, which takes away from the experience.
  • It can feel a tad overpriced for what you get, particularly if the meal doesn't live up to expectations.
  • There are occasional slip-ups with staff not being as attentive, or even chatting about work issues where you can hear them.

Lovely pub! Lots of car parking space, clean, friendly and a warm atmosphere. The all you can eat breakfast is fantastic value and so is the carvery. The staff are always friendly and we always have a good meal here. If you have children there are often deals on for kids so it definately helps cut down on the cost. It's a good choice when you need something to eat other than the usual fast food places and don't want to spend an absolute fortune.

Quite honestly, the worst carvery I have ever had. The meat, roast beef which is a term I would use loosely, was dreadful. Tasted and looked more like brisket. Gristly, fatty, chewy and tasteless. Vegetables... where do I start. Carrots were like tasteless sponges, peas and sweetcorn were hard, dried up bullets, cauliflower cheese (I think) was a dried up mess in the dish, as was the mashed potato. The gravy nice and thick but had no taste. The best things about this meal was the horseradish sauce, and the yorkshire pudding. Definitely would not recommend, or would I ever return.

We visited on bank holiday Monday 21st April. To the blonde lady on the till who was friendly and trusting as the till we were at crashed. To the young girl with brown hair who was friendly and engaging. To the young blonde girl making pizzas and serving the ice cream, she was so lovely with my children. The food was nice and although it wasn’t too busy when we went we actually prefer the quieter times. The older lady cutting the meats is a gem :) Thank you so much all the staff who worked on that day.

- no welcome on arrival staff just walk past you without acknowledging you - lack of meat - just fat -lack of care & presentation to desserts aswel as served cold (should of been a WARM fudge cake) - overpriced -dirty food service area -staff slating other members of staff in earshot of customers. Overall unpleasant and will not be returning, we use to enjoy coming here most Sundays 2.5-3 years ago sadly this has gone massively downhill.

Came here last night for a family meal, food on the menu was bland and it took our whole table awhile to order as there wasn’t much choice. I chose the carvery which was nice, service was very slow but staff were friendly. It took too long for other people’s meals to arrive including 3 children who were served last. Nobody came up to the table to ask if everything was okay. Two of us ordered and paid for dessert and were told that they would be brought to the table, after 40 minutes of waiting for it to show up we asked about it we were told they had sold out of both cookies and bubble waffles, we thought that it was disgusting that nobody came over to simply inform us that they had ran out of food but instead kept us waiting! I wouldn’t choose this restaurant again.
