About This Pub
Oh, what a treat The Bulls Head at Barston is! I've got to say, it's one of those places that just captures the essence of a proper British pub, nestled in this gorgeous Warwickshire village surrounded by lovely walks. The food really stands out – we're talking generous portions of classic dishes that hit the spot every time, whether it's a Sunday roast or a simple sandwich. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and quick to make sure everything's just right, which makes for such a welcoming atmosphere. It's fantastic for families or even if you're out with the dog; there's a real community feel to it all. On the flip side, it's a bit off the beaten track, so if you're not in the area, it might take some effort to get there, and the evenings can wind down earlier than you'd hope for a proper night out. Still, if you're after an authentic, hearty pub experience without any pretence, this one's a winner – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a proper taste of the countryside.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty, traditional British grub that's cooked to perfection, with massive portions that leave you feeling well satisfied.
-
It's a real gem in the Warwickshire countryside, perfect for a stroll followed by a pint of craft ale in the bar or relaxing in the garden on a sunny day.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in, whether you're with the family or popping in for a quick bite.
-
Family-friendly vibes all the way, with a kids' menu that's good value and plenty of space to enjoy a meal without any fuss.
-
Dog-friendly too, so you can bring your furry friend along for the adventure, and the welcoming atmosphere extends to everyone.
Cons
-
It's tucked away in a rural village, which means it might not be the easiest spot to get to if you're not local – could involve a bit of a drive.
-
Opening hours wrap up fairly early on some days, like by 9 or 10 pm, so if you're after a late-night session, you might need to plan ahead.
-
The menu sticks to traditional pub fare, which is brilliant if that's what you're craving, but it might not offer much variety for those wanting something a bit more adventurous.

Wonderful food and service. Was happy to drive to find an authentic British pub with the best food.
We enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch after a walk in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food is plentiful and well cooked. Sides are huge too. Highly recommended.
We booked a table online for 10, 4 adults and 6 children. The waitresses were lovely. We felt warmly welcomed. Good value kids menus. If you want a hearty meal at an old fashioned pub this fits the bill.
Really lovely pub surrounded by lots of walks. Great menu with an amazing range of food. The sandwiches are really good, we went on a Saturday afternoon and were seated quickly.
A lovely dog friendly pub. Great sized portions. Attentive staff. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
