About This Pub

Ah, The Brockwell Seam – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that really tries to make you feel right at home, you know? From what I've gathered, it's got this genuine community spirit, with staff who often go out of their way to be accommodating, like the owner-manager who's praised for being professional and attentive. The food's a highlight when it's on form; think fresh ingredients in sizzling skillets or flame-grilled burgers that make for a satisfying, budget-friendly meal, and they've even got options for veggies and vegans, which is brilliant for a mixed group. It's clean, welcoming, and they pitch in with local causes, which adds a nice touch to the whole experience. On the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing – some visits end up with cold meals or longer waits than expected, and there are tales of staff being a bit abrupt, which can sour the vibe if you're not in the mood for it. Overall, it's a solid spot for a relaxed catch-up with friends or family, especially if you're after great value, but I'd say it's worth going in with realistic expectations to avoid any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, like that owner-manager David who's always going the extra mile to make you feel at home.
  • They've got a solid selection of fresh, tasty food options, including some cracking breakfasts and pub classics that hit the spot just right.
  • It's affordably priced, so you can enjoy a proper meal and a drink without breaking the bank, which is always a win for a casual night out.
  • The place feels clean and well-kept, making it a comfy spot to relax with mates over a coffee or a bite.
  • They're really involved in the local community, offering their function area for free to groups and supporting charities – it's nice to see a pub giving back.
Cons
  • Food quality can be inconsistent; some dishes arrive cold or just don't taste up to scratch, which is a bit disappointing for a quick meal.
  • Service isn't always spot on – a few folks have mentioned staff coming across as rude or unhelpful, which can put a damper on the atmosphere.
  • Wait times for food can drag on, even when it's not too busy, so you might end up waiting longer than you'd like for your order.

Ate here for breakfast. David the owner manager was very friendly, professional and accommodating. He couldn't do enough for us. The food was served quickly and cooked to perfection. Will definitely return in the future.

Wouldn’t recommend at all. Horrible food, and arrogant staff. I could ignore the standard of food if the staff weren’t so rude. After all, it’s a pub not a 5 star restaurant. The staff have this weird urge to provoke confrontation with customers by creating problems that weren’t there in the first place. They pick and choose their favourite customers and give them special treatment while doing things like refusing to serve customers who they take a disliking to for absolutely no reason. A very strange, surreal atmosphere to be in. I would almost go as far to say, toxic.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat, chicken tikka was nice came with rice, poppadom and a naan bread, the chopped salad was very tasty, had a lovely fresh dressing in it and was topped with a very large piece of tasty salmon.

Food took 40 minutes and then arrived cold. Front of house couldn’t do enough and looked after our order making sure it was ready cooked. It’s not as if the place was busy either.
