About This Pub

Ah, The Britannia Inn – it's one of those classic pubs in Bolton that you can't help but appreciate for its straightforward charm. From the reviews I've seen, it's clear folks love the friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home, especially during buzzing events like karaoke or when the footy's playing on the screens. The beer garden is a real treat on a sunny day, and with a fresh refurb under its belt, everything feels clean and well-kept, plus the drinks are affordably priced so you can enjoy a few without worrying about the wallet. On the downside, it's a bit of a mixed bag with service; one person mentioned the staff being a bit down on a bank holiday, which could spoil the mood if you're after that warm, chatty pub experience. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint and some nostalgia, but it might not be the place to go if you're expecting non-stop excitement – still, I'd say it's worth popping in for the good bits.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The bar staff are generally friendly and welcoming, which really makes the place feel like a proper local spot.
  • It's got a cracking beer garden and sports on the telly, ideal for catching the match with mates.
  • The atmosphere is spot on during events like karaoke or disco evenings, adding a fun vibe to the night.
  • After a recent refurb, it's clean and tidy, with good value drinks that won't break the bank.
Cons
  • Service can sometimes be a bit off, like when the staff seem miserable and it puts a damper on things.
  • It might feel a tad quiet or lacking in events at certain times, leaving you wanting more buzz.

Popped in for a few beers with some mates. It was karaoke and the atmosphere was really good. There's a map on the wall that shows Farnworth from many s year ago. Great bit of nostalgia.
