About This Pub

Ah, The Brewery Tap – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles, isn't it? Tucked away in Abingdon, it's picked up a string of CAMRA awards, and you can see why with their impressive lineup of real ales and craft beers that really hit the spot. The food's another winner; I've heard loads of folks raving about the Sunday roasts, with tender meat, massive Yorkshires, and lashings of gravy that leave you properly satisfied. The team behind the bar are dead chatty and go out of their way to make sure you're looked after, which adds to that genuine local feel. On the downside, it does tend to fill up quickly, so popping in on a whim might not always work out, and it's a shame the opening times aren't more straightforward online. All things considered, it's a cracking spot for a pint, a bite, or even catching some live music – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after a proper pub experience without any fuss.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely spot on, with a fantastic range of real ales, craft beers, and ciders that'll keep any ale lover coming back for more
  • The food is a real treat, especially those cracking Sunday roasts and pies – they're generous, tasty, and just what you fancy after a long week
  • The staff are so friendly and attentive, always up for a chat and making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in
  • It's got a lovely atmosphere with live music on weekends, a cosy interior, and even a secret walled garden for some alfresco fun
Cons
  • It can get pretty busy, especially on Sundays or during events, so you might need to book ahead to avoid disappointment
  • The operating hours aren't clearly listed online, which could make it a bit tricky to plan your visit without checking in advance

We booked for Sunday evening after the roast dinner service had ended. We both had the lamb and mint pies and were delighted with our choices. The serving staff ( from Toronto) was attentive and personable. A great experience, strongly recommended😊

Amazing roast dinner - best I have had in a long time ! Everything beautifully cooked, lots of tender meat, huge Yorkshire pudding and the best beef gravy ever. Excellent friendly staff, venue for money and character interior. Excellent all round - you won’t be disappointed - this place really has it all.

Great pub in town centre. We visited for Sunday roast, 4 adults and one child. Food was tasty, with good range of vegetables as well as meat and reasonable price. Would visit again. Very generous kid’s roast.

Our favourite Abingdon pub, always has been😊 A lovely ambiance and friendly staff. The internal layout is lovely with separate areas which manage to feel as one. Good beer, wine and great food...hence it's always busy so book a table to be sure. The outside space is a courtyard with plenty of tables and heaters. We have never stayed in the room but understand they're as good as the rest of the pub. What's not to like.
