About This Pub
Ah, the Botwell Inn – it's one of those dependable Wetherspoon haunts that always delivers solid value without fuss. I've heard from folks that the drinks are spot on, like grabbing a pint of cider for just £3.79, and the food's generally tasty, with reviews raving about steak puddings and mash that really satisfy. The space is fantastic too; plenty of room inside and out, so it's perfect for catching up with mates on a sunny day or just unwinding. Staff seem to be on the ball, making everyone feel at ease, even if you're just in for a coffee like some have mentioned. On the downside, it's a shame about the smaller portion sizes compared to other branches – you might fancy a bit more bang for your buck. And let's be honest, the tables can linger a while without a wipe-down, which might put you off if you're after a pristine spot. All in all, it's a great go-to for a casual pint or meal, as long as you keep those little quirks in mind – I'd say it's worth a visit for the price and atmosphere alone.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
Affordable prices on drinks and food, like getting a pint for under four quid, which is brilliant for keeping things budget-friendly.
-
Spacious seating both inside and out, making it easy to find a spot for a chat or a relaxed meal with friends.
-
Friendly staff who are welcoming and helpful, creating a nice, comfortable atmosphere even if you're not up for a drink.
-
Tasty food options with good variety, such as hearty steak puddings that hit the spot.
-
Clean facilities overall, which adds to the enjoyable experience when you're popping in for a coffee or a bite.
Cons
-
Portion sizes can be a tad smaller than at other Wetherspoon spots, so you might leave feeling a bit short-changed.
-
Tables don't always get cleaned straight away unless you ask, which can make things a bit messy after a busy rush.
-
Some inconsistency in the operating hours listed, though it's reliably open late most days, so it's worth double-checking if you're planning ahead.

Food is very good. Just had a steak
Pudding with mash & beans . So good
Staff are very nice.
Nice big pub with lots of spacious seating inside & outside. Had a couple of pints of Strongbow cider on a gloriously sunny day. Paid £3.79 a pint. Not bad considering the location. Didn't eat here so cant comment on the food quality but looking at the menu the food & prices are typical Spoons.
Great food. Potion sizes seems smaller than other branches. They don't clean the tables unless you tell them to. Food was tasty though and price was great x
Love the Botwell Inn.
We don't drink alcohol and don't go to pubs often, but never feel unwelcome here. It's spacious, staff are friendly, and toilets are clean. Everyone just does their own thing, which is nice. I'd never dare to go into a small neighborhood pub. I sometimes go in, get a coffee and just read a book.
Wetherspoons as always is a great spot for drinks. It’s reasonably priced, service is great and you have a range of options on the food menu. They have their own app and ordering is so easy. They have lots of seating place both indoors and outdoors.
