About This Pub
Ah, Pub Punjabi – it's one of those hidden gems in Hayes that you might not expect much from at first glance, but it has its charms. From what I've gathered from the chats online, it's got this warm, community feel where people just strike up conversations, which is a breath of fresh air if you're used to the more impersonal vibes in busier areas. The food stands out a mile – think top-notch curry that's hearty and flavoursome, paired with drinks that won't break the bank. It's ideal for kicking back with mates over a game of pool or catching the footy on the telly. On the flip side, though, service can be a bit unpredictable; some visits are spot-on with friendly faces, but others leave you scratching your head over rude comments or that 'regulars only' attitude, especially if you're popping in with a group. Overall, with a solid 3.9 rating, it's worth a try if you're in the area, but maybe go in with an open mind and keep it to smaller gatherings for the best experience. It's all about that balance, isn't it?
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is really welcoming and friendly, with people chatting away and making you feel right at home.
-
They serve up some cracking Indian food, like the best curry I've heard of, and it's all at super affordable prices – you can get two pints for change from a tenner!
-
It's a great spot for a casual pint or watching the footy, with options like pool and even some favourite drinks on tap.
-
The staff can be lovely when they're in a good mood, adding to that community vibe that's a nice change from the usual hustle in central areas.
Cons
-
Service can be hit or miss; some folks have had rude encounters, like being rushed to order or feeling unwelcomed if you're not a regular.
-
It might not be the best for groups or newcomers, as it can feel like a regulars-only spot, especially during quieter times.
-
The place doesn't have much of an online presence, so it's tricky to check things out beforehand or get in touch easily.

Great pub played there pool team great atmosphere lovely lads
Place was empty - midday on a Sunday - and a group of us were told it was a regulars bar and if any more than the 5 of us arrived (we had more coming to watch a footy match on the telly before heading off to watch a 4th tier women's match at the Hayes ground), we wouldn't be served.
Incredibly unwelcoming, despite us being a quiet well behaved group. Went down to the Old Crown down the road instead and they were lovely to us.
Doesn’t look like much but best curry I’ve had. They are also super friendly in here. People just chat to you it’s really nice and such a change from the norm for me coming from central. Cheap as chips here for drinks too you get change from a tenner for two pints!

Yesterday i went to the pub with sister to watch football match. Less than 5min since we entered there a bartender was so rude, she told me that i need to order drinks. My sister was in wc at that time.
I was shocked! I said to her we will order some drinks in a minute.
Usually staff is nice there, but this time wasn’t the best experience.
Good Indian food and excellent service, also they’ve got my favourite passion fruit martini and madri beer on draft.
