About This Pub
Ah, The Blossoms – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles with its welcoming feel and solid 4.4 rating from folks who've clearly had a good time. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are the real stars here; they're chummy, know their stuff on beers, and make every visit feel like a chat with old friends. The beer selection is spot-on, especially if you're into traditional ales, and the upstairs spot for gigs is a hidden gem with decent sound that pulls in a lively crowd for bands and events. Plus, with rooms for a quiet drink, a pool table, and an outdoor area, there's something for everyone on a relaxed day out. On the flip side, it's tucked away with a bit of an uphill trudge from the main drag, which might put some off, and the decor doesn't always live up to the buzz – think a few areas that could use a spruce-up to match the friendly energy. Overall, it's a solid choice for a pint and a laugh, but keep in mind those operating hours might cut things short, and popular events fill up fast, so it's worth planning ahead for the full experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff at The Blossoms are absolutely brilliant – they're welcoming, knowledgeable about their beers, and make you feel right at home, like catching up with mates.

They've got a fantastic range of beers and ales, especially if you're a fan of Robinson's, and the upstairs gig venue has great sound for live music events.
-
The pub has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with multiple rooms, a pool area, and a large outdoor space, perfect for a casual get-together or enjoying events.
-
It's got that old-school charm with a welcoming crowd, and the service is spot-on, making it a top spot for live bands or just a quiet pint.
Cons
-
It's a bit of a uphill walk from town, so it might not be the easiest to get to if you're not up for a stroll.
-
The decor in some areas, like the music venue, is a tad lacking and could do with a refresh to make it feel more inviting.
-
Operating hours seem a bit inconsistent or on the early side in places, which might limit your options for a late-night outing.
-
Events can get busy quickly, so you might need to plan ahead and grab tickets to avoid missing out.

Well worth a visit.. very welcome coming landlord, great range of beer and ales and a superb knowledge of stock!!
Decent walk away from town (uphill!) but it's worth it for this nice little place. Old school multi room pub (helps if you like Robinson's beer) with a gig venue upstairs which had really good sound on my visit and was a better than expected experience.
Went to see a band here, the upstairs room holds 60 people, so best get a ticket in advance, as we nearly couldn't get in. Great pub, friendly crowd & the service was great. The landlord & landlady were both dead sound & we had a brilliant night.
Nice pub. Friendly staff. Small music venue upstairs which is cool (decor is a little lacking!) but good place none the less.
We regularly attend and participate with events at this pub. It has a pool room, 2 quieter rooms, a large outdoor area AND an events venue upstairs! The staff/ management are brilliant and have become friends.
The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and welcoming. The setting is comfortable and informal yet within a historical building with original features all around.
