About This Pub

Ah, The Bell – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its friendly staff and that homely atmosphere, where you can chat away with the locals and maybe even learn a thing or two about football over a smooth pint. I love how it's kept its traditional charm since way back in 1851, and the option to bring in outside food or sit out in the garden on a sunny day really adds to the appeal, especially if you're in the area for a bit of shopping on the high street. On the flip side, though, it's got a bit of an old-school edge that might not click for everyone – think more classic boozer than trendy spot – and sorting out details online can be a faff since their website wasn't playing ball. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, but it's worth knowing what you're getting into for the best experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly bartenders like Ellie and Isaac make you feel right at home, always ready with a smile and a chat.
  • The atmosphere is spot on; it's a welcoming spot where you can relax, enjoy a pint, and even pick up some local knowledge, like all about football from the regulars.
  • It's got that classic pub charm, being one of the oldest in Hounslow, and they let you bring in outside food, which is handy for a proper sesh.
  • If the weather's nice, the garden area with picnic tables is a lovely place to unwind and soak up the vibes.
  • It's in a lively high street area, so you can pop in for a drink and then explore nearby shops and fresh produce if you're in the mood.
Cons
  • The online presence feels a bit lacking – their website wasn't accessible when I tried, so it's not the easiest to get info beforehand.
  • It has a traditional, old-school feel that might not suit everyone; some might find it a tad outdated or more geared towards a certain crowd.
  • From what I've seen, it's more about the drinks and chat than fancy food options, so if you're after a full meal, you might need to bring your own or head elsewhere.

The atmosphere is very nice! People are funny. Make you feel like home❤️ I am not from around here at all but during my every visit, I learnt about soccer as they taught me🤠 Would really recommend if you fancy a nice ambient location for beer. 🍺

Oldest pub in Hounslow, built since 1851 (according to some research). Great place to chill and they accept outside food. Had a few John Smith’s, love the smooth taste. Friendly locals who actually researched on the pub’s history after I asked. Definitely a good place to have some drinks and immerse into the British pub culture.

If this pub was in America, it would be the quintessential "old man's bar" in the best possible way. The barmaid is great, the customers are friendly and it has a throw back vibe you're going to love. If the weather is good, go back into the garden and sit at a picnic table.
