About This Pub
Ah, The Barge – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper gem in Milton Keynes, with its rich history tied to the Grand Union Canal and that welcoming country feel. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the food really steals the show; think hearty favourites and fresh seasonal dishes that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank, and it's all served up with a smile by the staff who seem genuinely chuffed to help. I love how it's set in such a lovely spot, with gardens for sunny days and log fires for when the weather turns, making it brilliant for a wander along the canal or just chilling with a pint of excellent real ale. It's super dog-friendly too, which is ace if you're out for a stroll. On the flip side, it does get quite popular, so you might find yourself waiting a bit if it's a busy weekend, and the prices are moderate, meaning it could add up if you're planning a regular night out. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone looking for a warm, memorable pub experience – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself; you might just end up making it your new favourite spot.

Only stopped in for a quick print but this is a lovely pub. food looked great and I will have to try it next time. Plenty of beers on tap and ample parking.
I had an amazing experience at the Barge, I will be returning again. Katie (one of the waitresses) was an absolute delight with her politeness and attentiveness. She gave such great service, especially with explaining certain things on the menu. Food was incredible 10/10, not bad at all for the prices, 100% worth it.
A perfectly placed pub, next to Willend Lake in MK. Not overly crowded but nice busy pub, serving very good food. Covers all dietary needs and the serving staff are lovely. Allison was looking after us whilst we were there, and to be honest, couldn't do enough to help. She worked her socks off covering loads of tables and nothing was to much to ask of her. Always carries a smile and so polite too. Well done The Barge, you've got a diamond there.
Bar is well stocked with various ales and lagers too. Loads of outdoor seating and peaceful too boot.
Highly recommended visit. You won't be disappointed
