About This Pub

Ah, Ye Olde Swan – it's one of those pubs that just wraps you in a welcoming hug as soon as you step inside. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute stars, always on hand with a smile and that extra touch of care that makes you want to linger. The food's mostly a winner too; think hearty pub classics and fresh seasonal dishes that pair brilliantly with a pint, especially if you're tucking into their Sunday roasts or trying out the new spring-summer menu in the beer garden on a nice day. It's set in this quaint, historic village, which adds such a lovely, cosy atmosphere – perfect for catching up with mates or enjoying a quiet meal. But, to keep it real, it's not all perfect; there was that one off review where the fish and chips fell flat, all watery and lacking flavour, which is a shame when the rest sounds so good. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.4, it's clear most folks have a great time, so I'd say it's worth a visit – just maybe steer clear of that dish if you're feeling cautious, and pop in early to beat the crowds.

It's got that cosy, historic charm in a Grade II listed building, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed catch-up or a Sunday roast.

They've got a great beer garden for enjoying a drink on sunny days, and it's in a peaceful village setting just outside Milton Keynes.

Cons
-

Food quality can be hit or miss; one experience with fish and chips was pretty disappointing, described as watery and tasteless.

It might get busy at peak times, like Easter Sunday or weekends, so you could end up waiting if you don't book ahead.

Second time here and it's Easter Sunday. Not to busy found a seat easy. So fish and chips really awful ,fish was obviously frozen it was cooked but watery and no taste at all . The chips or the very few I had on my plate were very dry .the waitress did ask if all was ok and I told her, she said I will bring a few more chips but never did. So £22.50 ish worse off pint and dinner. Feel a bit ripped off . Posh looking place and the food is not up to par. Just.go for a drink and ignore the food.
We booked dinner for three as we couldn’t get into the restaurant next to our hotel. Drinks and mains only, two steaks, both medium/rare and a steak & pie.
I forgot to take pics before we had started eating 🙄
Food was lovely, staff friendly and hard working. I asked for extra gravy with my pie which was no problem at all.
Would definitely recommend and return.
Our favourite country pub in Milton Keynes! the staff are so very warm and welcoming , food is delicious and service is friendly definitely a stand out amongst chef and brewer !
Went for a meal here with my partner as we're fairly local and thought it would be nice to try. Very cute and quirky, low ceilings in places but adds to the feel of the pub.
Food was amazing, staff were friendly and helpful and we had a great time. Definitely be back again soon as this isn't a place you can just visit once and not come back to, especially after the great evening we had.
Food we had, that I'd definitely recommend:
Chef's board to start
Rum Pork Belly (specials menu so may not be available but try it if you can!)
Crispy Chicken Burger
Triple Chocolate brownie
Sticky Toffee pudding (which was bigger than we imagined but absolutely no complaints!)
Thank you to the staff and compliments to the chef - beautiful food! X
Added pics of our mains and desserts - apologies not the best photos as they were just a quick pic
Valentine's lunch with my fiancé. Quaint little gem in the middle of MK. Food and service was amazing. It was a very busy Friday lunch but we didn't have to wait for long. There was a lovely old fire place in the middle of the room. There are 4 different dining areas, on different levels, so some areas may be a bit difficult for wheel chair access. The bee garden looks inviting, can't wait to visit it when the weather is nice and warm. Definitely will go back for another visit with our friends and family.
