About This Pub
Ah, The Angel in Rotherham – it's one of those pubs that feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff really shine through; they're warm and attentive, making every visit feel personal and enjoyable. The atmosphere is spot on too, with that traditional pub charm, comfortable seating, and a crowd of friendly regulars that give it a real community vibe – ideal if you're after a pint and a good natter. On the flip side, though, there are a few things that might give you pause; some folks have shared stories of feeling discriminated against, especially if you're a single woman just looking for a quiet drink, which is a real shame and could spoil the experience. Plus, it sounds like the place has lost a bit of its lustre for a few, with service that can be inconsistent or overly hasty. All in all, it's worth a go if you're in the area, but keep an eye out for those niggles – it's got the heart of a great pub, but like any spot, it's not perfect.

Cons
-
There have been some upsetting reports of discrimination against single women, which really puts a damper on things and isn't what you'd hope for.

It seems like the place has gone downhill for some visitors, with inconsistent service that can feel rushed or unwelcoming at times.
-
A few recent reviews highlight issues like not feeling appreciated if you're on your own, which might make it less appealing for everyone.

It's my local pub, lovely bar staff, brilliant locals, it's all you need a pub to be.
Local pub in the centre of Rotherham, good bar staff, decent pint of lager.
This was a lovely pub to visit, with an old style aided by a massive light on the ceiling! The bar is well-presented with some flashy decorations, where friendly staff delivered service. I enjoyed a bottle of WKD Blue, situated comfortably on a clean table that suitably has placemats!
