About This Pub
Ah, The Angel – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From the reviews I've seen, it's all about that authentic boozer experience, with pints of good beer at prices that won't break the bank, and they've got live music nights that could really liven up your evening. The staff come across as dead friendly, and there's even a mention of a jukebox that's spot on for a singalong or two. It's got that timeless appeal, being a Fullers pub that's dodged the big chain feel, which is always a plus if you're after something genuine. On the downside, though, the chatter online has gone quiet since 2018, so I'm not sure if it's still buzzing or if it's fallen by the wayside – that lack of recent reviews makes me a tad worried it might not be as vibrant anymore. Plus, there was a note about it needing a bit of a spruce-up, which could put some folks off if it's looking a bit tired. All in all, if you're nearby and it's open, I'd say give it a go for that hearty pub atmosphere, but maybe check first to avoid disappointment. It's got heart, but like any old favourite, it needs a bit of love to keep shining.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is spot on, with decent options like London Pride at reasonable prices, making it a great spot for a proper pint.
-
It has that classic old-school vibe, being a traditional local pub that's been around for over a hundred years, which gives it real character.
-
Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere shine through, along with occasional live music from bands to jazz, and even a brilliant jukebox for added fun.
Cons
-
The reviews are quite outdated, with the most recent from 2018, so it's hard to know if things have stayed the same or slipped a bit.
-
One comment mentioned it could do with a fresh coat of paint, suggesting the place might need some TLC to keep up appearances.
-
There's no info on current operating hours, and it seems like it might be closed now, which is a real shame for a spot with such history.

Great proper local pub in the old school sense. Decent beer at a reasonable price, occasional live music from bands to jazz. If you like a real boozer then you can't really go wrong.
It a good west London pub. A very nice pint of Pride.new landlord adding new real ales
Very nice.
One of the best pubs to be had locally. Been in situ for over a hundred years I believe which should tell you how popular it is with the locals.
Tradition Fullers pub (local brewery) so doesn't have the feel of a big chain attached to it.
Not sure if they still do it but the carvery on Sundays in great value and tasty also.
Always make a point of visiting when I return to Hayes..
Bit of a paint job would be a good call but it's the beer that matters. London Pride was probably the best I have had since the Master Brewer closed. Brilliant jukebox, loud but that's fine by me. Very friendly and staff are really pleasant.
nice pub. good beer. good entertainment programme and now starting to do food. weekend breakfast + sunday lunch buffet
