About This Pub
Oh, Telford's Warehouse in Chester is one of those spots that just sticks with you after a visit – it's been around since 1993 and you can tell it's got that independent freehouse charm going for it. I love how the staff are so engaging and knowledgeable; they make you feel right at home, whether you're there for a quick drink or a full meal. The beer selection is brilliant, with all those European brews and proper cask ales that us beer lovers rave about, and the food generally hits the spot with big portions and tasty options like their Sunday lunches. Plus, the canalside location is perfect for soaking up the views, especially with live music or events on offer – it's a real hub for fun nights out. On the flip side, though, it does get packed, and I've heard from a few folks that service can drag when it's busy, which might put a dampener on things if you're in a rush. And let's be honest, not every dish is a winner; some reviews mentioned underwhelming food like soggy fish and chips, so it's worth checking what's fresh on the day. All in all, it's a solid choice for a great night in Chester – just go with the flow and you'll have a whale of a time!

The food is spot on most of the time, with generous portions and standout dishes like those salt and pepper ribs or a hearty Sunday lunch at a fair price.

Cons
-
It can get really busy, especially on evenings, leading to long waits for service even if you've booked a table.

Some food items might not hit the mark, like the fish and chips that weren't fresh or crispy in one visit.
-
The atmosphere leans towards a younger crowd near the student area, which might not suit everyone looking for a quieter pint.

Went for food and beer on a Thursday evening. Really nice and charming inside with a busy, lively atmosphere. Unfortunately we arrived at a time that was too busy for the staff. Despite booking a table, we needed to speak to the bar staff to get seated and it took 15 minutes to get served because they were busy serving a host of runners who had also just arrived.
Then, once we got seated, no one came to take our food order for another 20 minutes, by which time we’d already gone to the bar to order food.
The beer menu is great with some really nice options on tap. The classic pub dishes on the food menu looked great too, but unfortunately very limited choice for vegetarians/ vegans and the pakora burger I ordered was sub-par compared to the bangers and mash my friend had.
It’s a beautiful place near canal especially on a good weather. But an unpleasant experience with food. Not fish and chips was not fresh and not crispy. Crab tacos wasn’t very tasty
We went to telfords warehouse twice on a 2 night trip to chester. 1st night, Sunday, we saw 2 live singers. 2nd night, Monday, we did the quiz. Both very good. Clientele is mainly young, it's right next to student accommodation. It is also on the canal and has quite a lot of outdoor tables which we also made use of. Great atmosphere, helpful staff. Would recommend.
This was a last-minute stop for lunch whilst cycling along the canal towpath. The weather was great, the view was fantastic, but most of all, the food was absolutely delicious and a credit to the chef. Thank you.
One of the best pub meals I've experienced. Staff were fab can't praise them enough . They even put on my pudding plate congratulations for passing as a nurse . Food was great , they even impressed my dad which is hard since he's a chef.
A strong five stars , appears to be safe for LGBT+
