About This Pub

Oh, what a gem Tamesis Dock is – imagine sipping a pint while gazing at Big Ben and the London Eye from a cosy barge moored on the Thames; it's got that magical, one-of-a-kind feel that always puts a smile on your face. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute stars, making sure everyone feels looked after, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or booking for a live music gig. The food's a winner too, with fresh pizzas and tasty cocktails that won't break the bank, and it's brilliant that they welcome dogs, so it's family-friendly in the broadest sense. On the flip side, though, it's worth mentioning that being on a boat means it can sway a bit, which might not be ideal if you're not steady on your feet or if the weather's playing up. Still, with such high marks from folks who've been there – loads of rave reviews about the vibe and the views – I'd say it's well worth a visit for a relaxed catch-up or a bit of evening entertainment. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable night out, as long as you go in with realistic expectations about the floating aspect.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The views are absolutely stunning – you're right on the Thames with sights of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and the London Eye, making it a real treat for anyone visiting London.
  • The staff are so friendly and welcoming; they've got that warm, neighbourhood vibe that makes you feel right at home from the moment you step aboard.
  • It's got a fantastic atmosphere with live music and events – perfect for a fun night out or catching up with mates over a pint.
  • The food and drinks are spot on; fresh-made pizzas and cracking cocktails at fair prices, and it's great that they keep things affordable.
  • Being dog-friendly is a lovely touch, so you can bring your four-legged friends along for the adventure.
Cons
  • The boat can get a bit rocky, which might not suit everyone – if you're prone to feeling queasy, it could put a damper on things.
  • The drink selection is pretty standard, so if you're after something really unique or extensive, you might find it a tad lacking.
  • Outdoor seating could be affected by the weather, as it's on the river, so plan accordingly if you're hoping for a sunny spot.

I wish I could give 6 stars for this wonderful place! The setting is incredible, with a stunning view of Big Ben! The value for money is really fair, which is much appreciated, and the staff are very friendly. To top it all off, they are pet-friendly, making it the perfect spot to share a Guinness and a pizza with friends (there’s actually a much wider selection of drinks and food, but that’s what matters most to me!). A bit more music on the terrace would have been nice, but that’s just my personal opinion. We arrived at 7:30 pm and didn’t notice the time passing at all because it was so enjoyable. It was actually the chimes of Big Ben that reminded us it was already 11 pm! The only downside: the men’s toilets smell really, really bad—so much so that you have to hold your breath every time you pass by or avoid going altogether. But to be honest, that’s not enough to take away a star. Next destination: Battersea’s little sister! Thanks for the experience, and see you again for sure! :D

Tamesis is a great venue: friendly staff, excellent location, nice river atmosphere and really good food. I came here with my rock band for a gig. We were really well looked after, from the initial booking to the day of the gig itself. I could not recommend it enough!

Such a fun spot in the sun! Aperol spritz, great vibes and pizza- what more could you want on a sunny day?? The only negative I would have- which is no one’s fault- is the rockiness of the boat. If you are prone to seasickness or feeling slightly delicate, you may struggle!

Is it possible to walk past a bar that floats and is so close to the house of parliament? I don't think so! What an incredible view when we went in, both inside and outside would highly recommend going if you haven't been before.

Fun moored boat that offers great panoramic views of Westminster. Standard selection of beers and wines, we didn’t eat but the pizzas looked good. Worth a visit on a bright day, warm or chilly!
