About This Pub

You know, chatting about the Sportsmans Inn in Bishop Auckland, it's got this real charm that makes it a go-to for a good night out. I reckon the friendly staff and bouncers are a highlight – they keep things welcoming and alert, which helps avoid any bother. The DJ nights are brilliant, turning the place into a proper dance spot where you can let loose without much drama. Plus, it stays open later than the other locals, and they've got it nice and clean with snacks making the rounds, which is a lovely touch. On the downside, though, drinks can hit the wallet a bit hard and some say they're not quite up to scratch, possibly watered down, which is a shame when you're trying to enjoy yourself. It does get crowded with a younger lot that might feel a bit chaotic, and it sounds like the management could do with tightening up, especially with staff seeming overstretched and issues like lost belongings going unaddressed. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're up for some fun in Bishop, but it's worth going in knowing it has its rough patches – just like any good pub chat over a pint!

The dj is decent whenever ive been, i mean literally its been a rave some nights. I dance me sox of like and there's barely fights in this place. Probz the hipster bar of bishop on Saturdays, friendly staff too. Bouncers friendly and alert

Every weekend, full of kids, and travellers, off their heads. Drinks way over priced - spirits are definately 100% watered down, for the midnight crowd. They take advantage of the late license crowd. Managed badly, staff are over run kids and bullied to work, scared to loose their job/shifts by the owner. Well known fact, but, Bishop is a dying town, like most others at the minute, unfortunately. So, places to try are limited ☹️☹️☹️☹️ in Bish Vegas. Could try the Mitre or Laceys for early drinks, if you like waking up with scabs on your lips 👍
